I liked Eugene Onegin. Anna Karenina is like 800 pages long and is boring. I would also recommend The Idiot.

There are many and some of them quite long for today's reader. Idiot by Dostoevsky is good.

Anna Karenina is really good. I couldn't seem to get through anything else by Tolstoy.

Anna Karenina! I've read it 3 times, all different translations, and I get something different each time. It doesn't feel nearly as long as it looks on the shelf. I read half of it on flights and in airports in 1 day the first time. Good luck!
