Kefallonia would be good but my favourite destination is Halkidiki! try googling the name of the village Afytos or try one of these remote and beautiful places http://www.lacara-camp.gr/default_eng.html http://www.thalattacamp.gr/site.php?&file=index.xml&lang=eng (they are beautiful and quiet with amaaazing beaches and great wooden bungallows while at the same time they are close to other nice little villages with nice beach bars, places to walk and eat (easy if you plant to rent a car, or even take a taxi or use the bus service). have fun

try protaras in cyprus ( i know its techichely not greece) or stalis in crete. stalis is just up the road from malia but not as mad and has great bars and restaurants.

i would go to the following places: for the reasons
crete: history, fun, beach
mainland: history, shopping, fun, scenery
santorini: romantic, beautiful
thessaloniki: pretty, beach, fun, shopping
mykonos: beach, fun, scenery
kos: beach, fun
have fun i KNOW you will want to come back!!!!

Go to some of the islands. Corfu is great. Greece is full of the night life so you will not have any problems finding it. It will find you. If you are going for the first time, go see the Parthenon in Greece. Then take a train to Thessaloniki and see the White Tower and then go to either Corfu, Rhodes, or Mykonos. If you go in the summer, you can take an island cruise.

Here are my recommendations: Kefalonia. I think it is just what you are looking for. Argostoli is the capital, and largest town, with plenty of nightlife. U can also rent a car and travel around the island to some of the smaller villages. You will not be disappointed. Poros is probably my favorite.

My other recommendation is Skiathos or Skopelos, both part of the Sporades island group.

Another place you might like is Thassos, in the north, a very green island. You can find both nightlife and relaxation there.

A Google search or a travel book can give u more info about these places, and ideas about things to see.

Kefalonia definitely.
Try Lourdas because its is quiet but has a good amount of tavernas and a beach. Try the Aristomenis Studios!
