We usually just take euros with us and our credit card. If you are careful nothing gets lost, you are onto a winner as this way you don't lose out by commission charged when changing travellers cheques to euros, everyone seems to want a cut of your money.

take a small amount of euros and sterling and your credit or debit card .use your debit card at a ATM most large towns have one on most greek islands ,you get a much better exchange rate in greece than over here and your much safer with a bank card .dont forget to take or make sure you know the telephone number just in case you lose your card or its stolen ,but unless your careless its very unlikely to happen as greece is a very safe and honest place .
