February 2006 was lovely. Shorts and t-shirts during the day and sunny. Bit cooler in the evenings but very pleasant. Check out the extended forecast on yahoo weather before you go. Its always been pretty accurate for Spain, so expect it will be for Portugal too !

SAMMY
Unpredictable but often can be quite warm and pleasant. Similar to our early summer with the same risks.

I went in March a couple of years ago (so similar time of year weather wise) and it was pleasant. Wore shorts and t-shirts. It could be a bit cooler at times so take a jacket, particularly in the evenings... although there had been a bit of a heatwave the week before so really could be a bit unpredictable. You could be lucky

I was pleasantly surprised and even went skinny dipping one day because it was so good, something like late spring /early summer.

Lynne
Iffy, last year there was loads of rain (which was needed). It is usually the worst month, but its not big coat weather, even for residents. It is quite cold at night you will need something warm to wear.

normally like a dry summer day in england. take a few jumpers you won't need it all the time but you will need it in the evening and on colder days.

Check out www.bbc.co.uk/news . . . you'll find a weather forecasting tool for a five day forecast. I went in May and it was sunny but not baking hot.
