I'd say Piraeus, since I'm a seafaring type, and involved in shipping.

Thessaloniki is quite nice. Not too busy either. It's not too famous compared to Crete, Rhodes and Athens but is a good place to go all the same if you are looking for somewhere a bit different.

Nafplio!!!!
Extremely beautiful, lots of great tavernas, nightlife until the morning, two beaches - one with pebbles and one with sand. Simply perfect!

1) Athina ....of course life there and for Panathinaikos!!!!!!!!!
2) Naufplio (??) for the ease of walking around
3) Halkidiki for beaches without having to go over to touristy island
4) There isn't anyplace in Greece that I have been that is not good so do not understand your question.....just leave your country and home behind you and live the life of a Greek and you'll be happy.......in Greece, no problems, be happy

i was working for years in the tourist industry, have traveled almost to all greek islands, so i love santorini for the beautiful and unique landscape of the volcano area (kaldera), the beaches of Paros island, on the mainland the villages of Arachova for good greek food and skiing during winter, also check on the web "Meteora", a place near Gods, full of monasteries.

Chania Old town Crete Island. Do not bring company with you you will find in a minute there. If you like Kalymnos you will adore Chania
Another good place to stay is Pythagorion Samos Island.
the Pythagoras birth place.
My preferences are not only for the historical monuments but also for the night life in both of them.

In Peloponnese there are a lot of beautiful places to go,like:
-Nafplio -Iria -Epidaurus
-Portoheli -Tolo -Ydra
-Ermioni -Sparta -Poros
-Agios Emilianos -Spetses -....
Greece is a very beautiful country and you can find a lot of places to go and one place will be beautifuler than the other.

Delfi / Delphi. Because its indescribably beautiful. No wonder the ancient Greeks considered it a holy place.

I live in Crete and it is my favorite Greek island. Crete can not be compared to other Greek islands because it is much larger and it offers something for everyone.
There are excellent beaches and some of them have been voted as the top beaches in Greece, for example Elafonissi beach (west coast), Falassarna beach (west coast) and Orthi Ammos beach (south-west).

If it is intense nightlife you are looking for, then go to Hersonissos, Malia or Platanias and spend every night partying in the many clubs and bars in these areas.
