Baklava probably sweet for europian taste generally (but it of course depends on each person's taste) but turkish sweets are very sweet mostly. If its too sweet for u, than u should try others made by milk. (we call: Süt Tatlıları )

Ekşili Köfte - it's easy to prepare and very delicious

As you said, one thing is for sure, u will get weight in Turkey :)

An easy recipe is to fry or grill those long, crispy light-green peppers. They look like giant chillies, but are so yummy.
Fried aubergines, grilled veggies, couscous, bulgar.

They tend to eat lots of food with a whole, hot chille on the side, slicing off bits as they eat. Best thing is to go to a Turkish food shop and look around. Their cheeses are very good - there is a crumbly sort, like feta, which they eat with breads.

I love Turkish food and am glad I don't live there because I would weigh 300 kg;)

best Turkish food is Mantı..that is favorite of all time..not easy to cook but there is prepared ones that you can buy and cook like you pasta...

i like mediterranean type foods also kebabs imam bayildi which literally means "the imam fainted" he probably ate so much of this food then fainted but thats another story

Kabobs (from the Bazaar place, don't know the name) with the grilled peppers and that perforated flatbread... mmmm

But yeah, I love love love Israeli Bourekas that came from Turkey (actually, everything seems to have come from there, even yogurt!) so I would say Burek too (I make them at home).
