Serbians are great, I'm sure. Most of the preconceived notions we have about other countries stem from politics. If your country isn't getting along with whatever government, it doesn't mean the people of that great nation don't still like you.

I, for one, would LOVE to see Belgrade before I die. I hear its a fun, exciting place with fun people, and beautiful women (which I'm sure you're one of)...

I'm a foreigner living in Serbia for several years who has met several kinds of Serbians here. I'm not from any ex-communist country.
From my experience after living in their country through the years - they are kind, familiar, hard-working and respectful - nice people! :)
By the way, I can't survive without Serbian food anymore. :D

i am Serbian and I think there is nothing wrong with us, we are just different and they don't like us because of it. I think that some of them are just jealous of our heritage. Others might have had a bad experience with one of us, and think all of us are bad. There is also a media effect which tells people we are bad and violent, which is not true are all, they just want to make us look bad!

To answer all the people saying we did wrong in Kosovo. Even though you didn't say it, you think Serbs committed genocide of muslims and that is so off. Islamics are the ones that are trying to kill the southers slavs off.

The Albanians came to our country in search of work. Once their they started multiplying and eventully populates Kosovo. And then they want to kick us out. So if i come to your house and have 5 kids with a girl, we are the majority does that mean you have to evacuate your house? No.

Their is no reason for the Serbs to be hates by the albanians and islamics. for the croats and serbs, it is a very complicated predicamint that involves a lot of different factors

You know,after everything thats been done to us over past 15 years or so, why do we care do if there are nations who dont like us.Americans used to be our allies,but look now.... Whatever America does,is just to better them selves,not to help or be friend anyone.I love the opportunity to have new,better life,but im here because of American and Western politics.And for the 2-3 people saying how Serbs killed Bosniaks(muslims),well hello!!!!It was a WAR,everyone killed(it doesnt meant is right to kill,but thats war). I was born in Croatia,but im Serb,Croatians killed so many Serbs... they succeeded in their ethnic cleansing,since everyone was forced out,but you never hear about our tragedy.You had Bosniaks living in part of Serbia called Raska(Sandzak) they were un touched,so if we really wanted to get rid of all muslims as its potrayed in mass media,wouldnt we start at home?! That always bothered me.
But anyways... when im asked where im from,i dont say Croatia... you will never hear my say that,i was 5 when i was forced out and i dont have anything to do with them.Im from Serbia,where i didnt even have permanent home,i lived in basements,camps,schools,but my country,my SERBIA!Im proud of my country and of my people.I love our Serbian traditions,our crazy mentality. Our air tastes even better.When you get off(and on a)airplane on Nikola Tesla airport,you really realize how much you love that your Serbian,how much you trully love your contry.

South America, Asia, Africa... practically the only countries who do not like us are Germany, USA, England and a bunch of their political poltroon satellites... their poisoned masses by the media warfare undertaken against Serbs who see us like Germans toward Jews... Why should we care that people from Germany have never liked people from Serbia? After all, they have their historical reasons and they will always follow their karma. There are so many other people, nicer people all around this planet.

What he lacks to tell us is that how come there were 5000 armed ethnic Albanians in Kosovo killing the Serbs, Albanians and policemen and what should have Serbia done about that, as if all the rape-genocide stories came out from the old - known to us Jewish comparison, without any historical context and understanding from the Albanian-Serb rich mutual history, specially in the circumstances of USA supporting and escalating the Albanian terror for the sake of Bondsteel...

The reason he does that is because he worships 15 tons DU and is eager to bringing human sacrifice to that altar, leaving no space to reason away from this trance. His sarcastic tone reveals us his stance toward Security Council and all those countries which are divided between political fear from USA and the strive toward peaceful coexistence and international norms - he sees himself beyond international law which he sees as minor annoyance, but one day he will fall from high above, and Serbs will still be right next to him...

PS. I will answer the question about the death of the Jashari family. The Serb police surrounded the house of the Jashari terrorist. They gave two hours for them to surrender and the women and children could go out. Now, we should counter ask our Albanian friend here why did Jashari use his family as live shield. Is that common practice in Albanian culture?

I think that Jashari, as seen from your Albanian eyes, got what he wanted. He sacrificed his "dear ones" for becoming a terrorist martyr.

As you can see my dear petra, people usually have a problem with Serbs for being in a war with them previously, and the two who voiced their dislike here are both Muslim. What I'd like to say is that so many atrocities have been done to the Serbs by these same people throughout history, and in front of the whole world, that only the persecution of Jews can be compared to that of the Serbs: purely nationalistic and stemming from irrational hatred. The number of Serbian civilians, women&children as casualties is the best indicator of the plan to exterminate one whole nation, and many have tried to realize it: from the Ottomans, Austro-Hungarians, Nazi Germany, Ustashi, Muslims, Bulgarians, Albanians - you name it.

PS Come join our community, if you're a Serb. As I said, there's a baptism of fire to go through, but it's a piece of cake for a real Serb. For a troll, provoking trouble - it's a nightmare.

the reason why I personally would not visit Serbia and dont do any business with, is what some serbs did to the muslims in the early 90th.
it was really gruesome what has been done to the ppl.regardless of ones age they have been treated like none of gods creatures should be treated.
It was a huge tragedy and many terrible things happened there.
You know every country has something to be ashamed of in their past,but the serbs did this in front of the entire world,while ppl in the modern world tryed to help others , many serbs attacked the innocent.I think they will carry that shame anywhere they will go as a burden on their shoulders for a very very long time...

Ok, im not fans of Serbs, just like i am not a fan of other nations, but the thing is i never really had anything against them until i saw what happened in the war in Kosova. especially all war crimes and all the cruel things that occured in kosova. i actually felt bad for them losing the land in kosova but it had to be done, that was the only option.
another thing is i tried to make friends with serbs here at college in U.S.A. however after emalng them to join me in soccer, they saw my name and didnt even respond.

I wanted to go to Belgrade this summer, but how would an albanian from the U.S. get treated down there. last time my cousin passed through belgrade to conect flights, he was checked and given so many problems just so he can be delayed and made uncomfortable.
i want to be friends with a lot of serbians, i want to visit serbia, i have no problem , i wasnt born with the mistrust and the stereotype, over the years it developed from what i have seen. give me thumbs down, but im honest and i am not making anything up.

i am not going to deny that albanians also comited crimes and killed ppl in kosova... i am not going to deny that, but serbs started the whole thing, and they killed more civilians, and comited more war crimes (not all serbs but those that did). now what you are saying is that the U.S. and other western countries saw how albanians began killing serbs and didnt care because they were born against serbs, but then as soon as serbians defended themselves they then went and attacked them... is that what you are saying is that the u.s. and e.u. just hate serbs for no reason... ok good thought, but it doesnt make sense.
