korakistika :P heheh

ok ok
maybe German if i had to choose.I kinda knew some, but not good enough.
can i pick an ancient language too? 'cause then, i would like to speak fluently ancient Greek, (high school lessons were not enough)
or a forgotten language from a lost civilization that hasn't been studied yet!!!! (am i allowed to daydream?)
italian sound nice too. :/ hmm idk..

edit: i forgot to say exactly 'why'
well, German because as i said, i had a few lessons in the past and it would be nice to continue. It's not the 'cold' language i always thought it was.
Ancient Greek 'cause i feel sometimes ashamed that i don't know the 'other half' part of my language, it's like when you skip the first course and eat the dessert right away. It's not 'complete', you know what i mean?
Then a forgotten language 'cause that would be interesting!Maybe some history 'blanks' would change.
Italian, well they sound nice :P

ps: ξεφερωφω κοφωραφακιφιστιφικαφα

I would like to speak Greek and Japanese.

I am currently learning Spanish and Turkish, and I can only write a few simple sentences.

I know good French, average Arabic, and a little bit English.

I use Greek and English daily - I love being a native English speaker (as in British English) I adore the accents which vary from town to town - I would love to know more words and have a wider/richer vocabulary ...... but more than anything I'd LOVE to have an Irish accent!!!

You see I used LOVE 3 times - told you I need a richer vocab!

Panayiota (Go Cavs!)
Italian sounds really nice.

I would also love to speak Spanish.

I already know Greek, and I love it. It's easy to express myself speaking Greek.

ThickGirl17
Chinese or japanese because they are the hardest languages to learn and i like to be challenged.

Takis Tsoukalas
Greek is enough for me. It expresses everything I need to say both in my private and professional life.

Definitely Hungarian.
It is not your everyday language but useful for me to know since I own a flat in Budapest and plan on living there forever soon.
My husband is Hungarian and although everyone in Hungary is nice to me, it would be much more interesting to be able to speak to people as an equal not a child with my limited language skills.

Well, I use English and Greek as my current daily languages. I'd be okay to communicate daily in Italian and Russian, since I speak both of these languages and in fact I used to speak these languages on a daily basis as well. I was fluent in the past, but I'm rusty now since I don't use them that often anymore.

*****

So I'd go for Spanish as my #1. My biggest regret is studying only one year of Spanish in high school while studying German for six years. If I could go back, I'd switch around those two languages. I'd like to speak Spanish as a daily language because Spanish is kind of my second language since I grew up in Los Angeles, so it's close to my heart and I have an ear for it too. I mean, growing up there I heard it every day, all the time. Hell, the first birthday party I ever went to was of a Mexican classmate of mine when I was 5 - nobody was speaking English at the party, and since I was so young, I couldn't understand that they were even speaking a different language, I just thought they had some strange accent and were using words I didn't know yet, haha.

And at one period in my life, I was working with many Mexicans, and I was the only non-Mexican who could speak decent Spanish, so I did the translation between the employees and I served the Spanish-speaking customers. It was really fun; you feel passionate just speaking such a language. And they were all very kind, friendly, welcoming, etc.; the Mexican employees would ask me to come have lunch with them, and we'd be chatting away in Spanish about the girls and stuff, haha. Good times.

@Min: What about you? You haven't said which you'd choose yourself.

@Peggy: Sucks about having problems with your old account. I'm sure it'll get working once they fix all the glitches that have been happening lately. I wasn't able to use my account for 7 months because I forgot how my account name is spelled, and the stupid Yahoo people were no help (apparently I have two accounts linked with one email, who knew that that is even possible?).

DanyBoy
Kurdish ofcourse !
