What made Vladimir Lenin a great leader?

Platypuss
The support and money he got from the American and German Jews.
The help of Free Masons would make anybody a great man and leader.

I never consider him a great leader. I consider him a great revolutionist.

Person above me that said, "He was a very strong nationalistic personality and instilled great pride in the country to its inhabitants." has no concept of Marxism/Communism or any relative theory. The ideology that Lenin brought was the epitomy of everything opposite of nationalism! Communism, by nature, is a global internationalist movement that seeks to slowly deride nationalist sentiment and unique national identity in people of all lands that it manifests itself upon.
If you want to research great leaders, research Tsar Aleksandr III.

A lot of people seem to be confusing Lenin with Stalin. Yes Lenin was responsible, at least in part, for a number of atrocities committed by the Reds during the Civil War, but he was a Great Leader in a number of ways. That said, it is 8 moths since I have thought about Russian History and I can't give a detailed answer.

Tranquility
Wake him up and ask him.
He is just sleeping after all the hard work he did.
I just hope that the Muscovite's did not buried him.

Samuel Harris
he had a political plan to implement marxism into russian society. he was such a great leader because he was strong and ruthless enough to defeat all those opposed to his government. Think of the Russian civil war directly after the october revolution, and the cheka which became the KGB. He had the capacity to assert his control. He also had Trotsky to help him out alot.

he turned the biggest country in the world upside down,
creating the first communist country in the world!
If this is not enough to qualify him as a greatest leader,
then -idk what.
he was the evil one- yes, but - still one of the greatest mind in the history

The ability to have history books written (gunpoint normally works well as a motivator) the way you want them is normally a good way to have yourself called a great leader, a fine poet or musician, and killer at Yahtzee.

For the record, the first communist society was in America. That was hundreds of years before the russian experiment, and we're adult enough to not try to blame any Jewish people for it. It merely didn't take America 70-years to realize it didn't work.

David S
Charisma and the ability to motivate people are what made him successful.

He was a very strong nationalistic personality and instilled great pride in the country to its inhabitants.

That, and the fact that he totally killed everyone who disagreed with him so, by the time his reign was over everyone left totally agreed with him.

John M
he was a dictator

why is this in travel anyway

The first thing is that Vladimir Lenin himself was convinced that he was a great leader.

What makes you assume he was great? In my mind he was a horrible human being who was a dictator.
