if you mean what would you eat if you were in ancient Greece i have the answer for you...

Greeks hadn't a huge variety of food because they were poor.
for breakfast they had bread dipped in wine and maybe olives or figs
their lunch and evening meal was very simple too.
they always had dinner because it was considered as their main meal.
they were based on wheat bread and mostly made of barley crackers as the poor used them because they were cheaper.

they ate a lot of fish. they used it very often and almost every day.

meat was considered as something only rich could have. only pork was easy to have. that's why everyone looked forward to the gatherings or the immolations to have it for free.

they didn't have forks. they ate with their fingers. they had plates but they used them for soup. as a plate they used crackers or a big slice of cheese. spoons and knifes were occasionally on the table.

they drank water milk and of course wine.they had their way to make wine smell like mint honey or thyme.

In todays modern Greece, go for those small villages or little ports away from tourist centers, and eat with the local people there. In the mountains you will have goat, whilst lamb, sheep and porc is available everywhere. The best tomatoes and olives in the world are found in Greece.
Small fish and octupus are also cheap and served in different ways.
Potatoes or bread & garlic are combined with the above.
Do not forget to have a good ouzo as a starter, a good glass of housewine, and dream away about ancient Greece under the blue skies..

Not sure what you mean by ancient Greece, but the best food we found in Greece was the gyro - yummy and extremely cheap, very filling. Their yoghurt is to die for!!! It is even as white as their paint all over the place.
