if you try to be aggressive too, you give them value. you should be polite and just ignore them.
show them that a human with culture will never criticize others just because they are different.

I was close to that situation many years ego. The only solution is to find some other minority to befriend and keep away from them. Ignore them completely, they will get tired in the end.

Always consider the source in situations like this, and unless you are physically threatened, totally and absolutely ignore them lest you lower yourself to their level. DO NOT acknowledge.

Education is your fortie..although you want friends,the best way to gain respect from any one .is to show them that .ignorance is a closed book..agressiveness is a closed book to life its only one aspect of life there are many things in life any one who shows agrisivness is ignorant and uneducated.not that all turks are like that they are educated turks and educated greeks ....share your knowledge.and know your neighbours..after all...you go to school to be educated. belive me in life you will only have one or two close friends..the rest will be aqauintances..as far as picking is concerned ..unless they physically assault you it dosent hurt its just anoying. but if they physicaly hurt you do your best but be a lady....and the best is to talk you way out of some thing..trust me from all the crowd if you talk you way out of it you will gain respect from at least one turk and firendship..

I can't believe how stupid people can be sometimes. I mean that even if they are rude to you, nothing is going to change back at their homeland (meaning external affairs). I believe that racism is something you get form your family and the people that surround you.

Let them be, show them that you have nothing against them. After all, your family has taught you to be open minded and accept people as human beings and not as 'nationalities'.

After all, why bother? If they hate you for being Greek then that's a problem that they have to tackle with on their own!!

If it hurts you to be attacked by them, just ignore them. React with a cold humour when they attack you. Like if they say something against you, reply "of course,, everyone knows that I am the worst person alive".
If you have the strength to withstand their offenses, stand up for yourself and keep your temper, but reply to them with your own arguments.

You mean they are not only boys but girls, isn't it? You're not the only girl and they are all boy, correct?
Steps:
1. Find out who their leader is, you know, the one that is the 'boss' of the others, the one they listen to and respect more.
2. Find out what he wants from you.
Especially if you mean that they are a 'gang' of 19y old boys, hmmmmm....he wants your attention.
If your class is mixed (boys & girls), then it could be more serious, complicated and you should be careful.
Just think of what would fit you, and only you, more: go to another class with other students, ignore them and show them that you don't give a *** about their non sense or... picking up the most handsome guy and try to date him???Ok...this last was a joke.

Find the "Alfa" boy/girl .. first. Try to catch! him/her solo and ask what do u want? what's the problem?

Direct communication good for find common points, and believe me u and they had many "common" points ( like humors ) .. If u can deal with Alfa Leader rest of the "crew" will follow his/her steps.

tell him/her = Hey komsu, beni bu yabancilarin arasinda yanliz birakma ! ( mean is : Γεια σου γείτονα .. δεν ζουν μου εναντίον των ξένων ) .. this will work well.

i dont think it has to do with nationality, more with personality, i have personally met many turks that were very kind and polite with me.

Do the thing that I did when Turks in my class made rude comments about me and my other white friends: ignore them.

Oh, I am Turkish and had my education in Turkey, by the way. I didn't think twice when boys were being boys. If you watch any American movie, you will see that it is not about Turks, it is about people who think they are cool hurting others. Racist? Yes, I think you are.

if you study in england then these turks will have the personality of brits not turks from turkey...

if you live in britain thats just the attitude of youth,they are just messing with you cos you happen to be greek.

just be yourself and mess with them back,they will probably laugh and you might make some friends.
