You would wear the same things as you would wear at home. It will depend where it's being held as to how formal you need to dress, If it is being held at a hotel it will be very formal, Don't worry and you pick something that will make you feel pretty |

this is your chance to really dress up and be glitzy and glamorous ... the Turkish weddings I've seen are always a bit over-the-top ... great fun !! |

Always wear something nice. A nice cocktail dress would do (black is fine), but remember not to wear white! I don't know why, but people at Turkish weddings always tell me never to wear the color because it would insult the bride who's wearing white...I don't know. Maybe that's just a bunch of hodge podge, but I still follow it anyways.
Also remember to bring a gift with you. The tradition is to bring a gold bracelet on the wedding day, because gold is to be more precious than say a toaster oven :) Even if they don't like it, they almost always trade it in for cash $$ |

Like Tanju said it will be a night dress, glamorous, but not as glamorous as the bride's.
The place the wedding takes place will give your cousin a hint. If it is being held in the Çırağan Palace or similar 5-star hotel, she should do her best to look best. If it is a smaller family affair held in a wedding saloon (düğün salonu), even a skirt-and-jacket suit will be just fine.
And like above said, generally you are expected to take a gold coin or bracelet along. These will be given as gifts at the end of the wedding. Think of them as financial help to start a new family. |

I think, as it is a wedding ceremony, you should wear a night dress anyway, becoz it is a wedding and not a tea session, doesnt matter where it is held. Bcoz trust me all women attending that ceremony will never ever come to it wearing jeans or capries, or a tank top with shorts on...
Try to have a night dress but never ever exaggerate either with that dress or the make up... Have a great ceremony and day as well... |

I live in Turkey and have been to lots of weddings - personally I would say do not wear white, do NOT show too much skin, especially cleveage - a big no no! People at the wedding will condemn it - especially the family of the bride. Do not wear a skirt that is too short. Just wear something nice and glitzy and that you are comfortable in.
Most of the women attending will have gone to the hairdressers beforehand as they use this as an excuse to go! They love dressing up and putting lots of make-up on. And you'll be expected to join in with the dancing afterwards where you dance with your hands in the air! lol
Usually you can just pin money on the brides dress as a gift - or you can buy a present - I think a gold bracelet is a bit too much - just pin a 50 YTL onto her dress!
Have fun! |

A nice cocktail dress...
Be sure that you can dance with your dress because in Turkish weddings people dance more than what I have seen in other countries. |

There are two parts to a Turkish wedding: the "nikah" or civil ceremony and the "düğün" or wedding reception.
You should wear smart but not elaborate clothes to the ceremony, a business suit or nice day dress for example. For the reception you can really go to town - women usually wear long evening dresses with lots of glitter, make up, jewellery and elaborate hair-do's.
If the two parts are combined, in a restaurant or hotel for example, as sometimes happens, it really depends on the type of venue, but err on the side of the glitzy evening dress.
I once got ready for a friend's wedding and her mother asked me when I was going to get changed - I already had!!
PS To all the people who suggested wearing a "night dress", be advised that in English we sleep in a night dress, but wear an evening dress to a grand party!! |

wear whatever you wear in the weddings in the usa and just be yourself; no need to change... |

Depending on where the ceremony will take place.
If it is in a hotel, especially a 5 star hotel, then just try to look your best, and dress up. An elegant night gown, high-heels, accessories, hair and make-up should match, etc. Do not wear white (it is an insult to the bride for it would outshine her and never outshine the bride unless she's marrying your ex) and do not wear black (black is a mourning color and it is summer).
If the reception will be on day time or I don't know, near a lawn, a smart coctail dress will do the job.
Here is an example of how people dress up for a formal wedding ceremony in Turkey:

Depending on the time of the wedding but it should be formal and anything you would wear in the US. Don't wear white as the bride should be the only one in white. Black is fine, especially in the evening a "little black dress" is perfect. If it's a nice hotel wedding it will be fun. |

A smart, black night dress would be great ;-) |

You could wear a magnificent bra and panties set or slip set under your clothes to feel pampered and confident all day |

Hmm, my advice is simply a night dress, glamorous, but not as glamorous as the bride's.
