aww :)
you guys look good together ♥♥♥♥

just be relaxed and cool....most guys hate it when girls are possessive, bitchy, clingy, controlling, etc. learn to relax, and have fun....we all have too much going on in our lives don't be the high maintenance drama queen. Havin a woman around who makes life more difficult than enjoyable will make a man lose interest....if you do things like show genuine concern when the man has had a rough day it'll earn his respect and go toward winning him over and a good man will reciprocate.Remember that most men especially the good ones just like me :)))) are looking for someone with whom they can be comfortable, and not someone who is always intense....hope that helps ya

Dont worry what people will think!!! I also have a Turkish BF! He is a god, like all Turkish Guys! He will love you this is all I can say, because they are so romantic. You know how the Italian man is romantic, but then a player a month later. He will not be like this. None the less you both are cute for each other. Just curious how did you guys meet? I hope you both will love each other from here on out.

You guys make a good looking
couple...:)))))
You are dark skinned, and he is very
light, so your asking if your interracial
relationship will be accepted?..
Turkey I think is very different from
the US, considering there is only a very
tiny minority of blacks, and
only like 1% of the people are not Muslim,
so with very little diversity there
you could have some
problems... I wish you well though.

Rengim - Don't be to sure I have not
been to Turkey. And this issue
is not about discrimination, and
in implying I could not differentiate
religion and race suggests this,
so don't even try it. I am simply
stating the facts, and with very low if
any ratio on interracial marriages
in Turkey, one would naturally assume it
is due to the lack of other races or religions
living there...OK?
Show me I am wrong, just don't
tell me...Show me the statistics on
black and white marriages in Turkey...
If you find it is non existent, is it because
it is not accepted? Or will you tell me
some flowery reason, about art and
beauty, instead of, or avoiding to
telling this person that something
very, very unusual, may not be accepted
and is uncommon in Turkey, lalalala,
and most likely may be very difficult.
What is the big deal about saying it
like it really is? Huh..geez

Also this doesn't mean they can't
overcome it, true love always wins.

"I really don't think you you'vee ever been to Turkey"
oh really??? Well guessing is not
my style, and your approach to me
is very defensive and not at
all aggressive which by the way
I like to see in all people, but
your constant inquisitiveness regarding
my age, and your unfounded accusations about
my intentions are just stall tactics for someone
who has been cornered. My answer BTW
is to old to continue this conversation
with an apparent "sore loser".
Honestly your answers have not
inpressed me once, I suggest you start
to work on that.
Rengem just so there is no hard feelings
between us, I will let you know exactly when
I lost hope in your ever being crediable, it
was when you stated your grandparents
were Armenian Muslims, and they fled to
Turkey during the Armenian genocide.
And thus being your reason for denying
it to be a Genocide, but in other
statements prior you had decared your
heritage as full blooded Turk....
I am still debating whether you just
a fraud, or a malicious fraud, the votes
have not been all tallied yet on that one.
Are you proud to be an Armenian as
well? A "proud" Turk considers it an
insult not to be proud of their ethnicity ,
as Tanju, and ibriam will attest too.
Are you suggesting that only implies
if you are a Turk, because that would be
an insult to them as well.

In fact, due to the changes that happened in Turkey in the last two decades ( the boom of tourism ; generations of " westernized "Turks from abroad, etc ), there is more marriages with foreigners now...
In general Turkish families prefer their son/daughter to marry inside their nationality (or at least inside their ethnicity), but things really tend to change...
We know plenty of Turks who are married to Germans,Russians,Americans,Arabs, etc...My two sisters are married to French guys...And there are even Turks who marry Greeks ( Go figure...Even despite of our alleged political disputes, lol ).
And yes, to answer your question, there are now also some Turks who date Black/White biracial people, and even non mixed-race (plain Black). For the moment, that's a tiny minority, and we don't see it in all regions of Turkey...
But don't worry, you will be fine...I don't think you'll have troubles with his parents.
After all, you are with your man, not with his parents, right?
I personally already dated, here in France, women from Black/mixed race ethnicitie ( West Indies and Colombia). My father and my sister simply couldn't understand my tastes, but they respected my preferences. My mother and my brother had no problem with my dating any race or religion...

Also, we have also local Black people ( small communities, though), in Ege region, for instance in Aydin,Izmir,Manisa...And I've noticed that those girls were generally super pretty.

If you wonder how a beautiful Black-Turkish woman looks like, here is a photo of Melis Sökmen, a singer born to a Turkish father and a Guinean mother...Nice mixing, isn't it?...

Another interesting example of Turkish/Black mix is Colin Kazim Kazim, the football player who is even in the National Turkish Team:

Congratulations to you and your man.

Your image doesn't load up. By the way. What does it matter what WE think? You are the one that needs to be happy with him...whether he's ugly or good looking. How does he make you feel?

Totally Blunt
We have a Turkish tv celebrity looking just like you. What was her name, I can't remember.

Edit: Here

The name is Defne, whose equivalent is Daphne in English.

JokerTheFool
does it matter what yahoo members think, or what you feel?
i can't believe that you asked this!!!

gugu
Do not worry, you'll be accepted just fine.
And you two look like a fantastic couple, congratulations.
I agree with Ibrahim, also you can make a research about them by googling the word "afro turks". We don't have a huge afro population like the U.S, but still we have.
Most of them live on the Aegean coast (Ayvalık, İzmir, Balıkesir....) and some in the Mediterranean region.

I understand why you're asking me this, you're afraid you won't be accepted, you'll be discriminated against because of your looks, which is pretty common in developed countries (I'm especially thinking of the States and France where looks matter when you're walking down the street). But you don't have to be afraid, although I'm unable to see your picture I can say that there's no such problem in Turkey. It's a very ethnically diverse country, whether some people accept this or not, it's true and it's difficult to pin-point one look to Turks. Otherwise foreigners are common in big cities such as Istanbul or Ankara (or even more on the coastal line) so there's no problem there even if you're the most exotic looking woman in the Earth you won't be treated any differently than in your own country.

Though I'm not sure what your question was, I just answered what made sense to me. Are you asking us what types Turkish men like? Are you asking us if we find your boyfriend handsome?

EDIT: Just saw the picture. Don't worry, if his family is ok with you then you have absolutely no problem.

Alana- we meet again. I see you have not been to Turkey. Ethnic race cannot be determined by religion, although there's only 6 % non-muslims in Turkey that does not indicate the ethnic diversity of a country. All muslims look alike just like all christians do? Mostly because of the Ottoman Empire there's no "real" Turks descending from the Turkic race anymore (I know only two people who look like Turks), it's a mixture of all people coming from all neighboring regions of the country. This is what makes Turks tolerant. Although we're aggressive and unimpressed when it comes to opinions, points of views and personal choices. Turks do not care much for looks. Their view on the outer physical aspects of the world can simply be described as black and white, there's the beautiful, and there's the ugly. Simple as that but highly effective. I believe it's the lack of a real Turkish renaissance in Turkish art and culture that creates this, since we never had just one sense of eternal, perfect beauty, everyone's perception of beauty varies and goes in my deeper than the average appearance of a person. This last part wasn't about you Alana, I gave your name just so you could differentiate religion and race, otherwise I'm just ranting. :)
Sweetheart what does that have to do with anything? Of course it's uncommon to find interracial(black+white) marriages in not only Turkey but everywhere in the region, could you give me concrete numbers on black and white couples in Armenia? How do you figure it could be common since there's a really a slight very small black community in Turkey? Hell I'm not even sure how these numbers differ from any other interracial couples. I do know though that there is 20% of Russian-Turkish mixed marriage rate in the region of Antalya (From the book Statistics and Turkiye) and between the years 2000 ad 2005, 5000 kids were born from these marriages. As far as I know Russians are Christians.
(I deleted the rest cause seriously it's just rambling and no one needs to know about my origins anyway)

Mysterygirl27- I ask you to be calm, there'll be no problem, nothing wrong if you come to Turkey. Do you want to hear my honest opinion? You guys look good together and you're indicating that you're a happy couple, nothing can break through that tough bond that forms happiness as long as you feel secure and confident. Be it Turkey, be it Angola (just off the top of my head), be it Russia, you mustn't worry about anything.
