Reading, listening to music, being in touch with my freinds, and believe me nothing changed. It's just an additional task. giving the opportunity, if handled right, to communicate, exchange ideas and opinions, even get support and help as I had from many of my turkish friends in animal welfare issues, forest fires etc.
Isn't it great that through internet I met you, Ipek, Alev, Esra, Moustafa, Hahri, Fatih, Ayran, Eyul, Baris, Manisalibo, and so many others whom I always consider my friends even if we do not communicate everyday, having to face our personal problems sometimes and wanting to be away for a while? |

Hi Istanbul,
Well, I loved to write letters like DejaVu said ...
When I was going to school, I had a Pen-Pall from Finland ...
We were sending letters and PostCard each other...
Nina (My PenPall) always send me nice color photos and of course, I send her nice Istanbul Photos ...
There was a fragrance (like a flower) in her Letters,
I do not know, How ?
I were always waiting her Letters with curiously ...
It was so nice ...
Thanks for this question ...
Best Wishes for you and for DejaVu ... |

I think writing letters is still better than sending out emails because it is more personal, there is a delivery time which will allow some different topics to accumulate and it is permanent. I never do it though. |

I was sitting around asking questions to myself and giving myself sarcastic answers :P
I actually still write letters. You women probably already know what it took me some time to figure out - a handwritten letter is very romantic. It shows a lot of time and care, especially since I have to line through my really bad handwriting and take the time to write it so that it can be read. :) |

I was reading printed newspaper. Duh! :PPP
Giving thumbs downs on the phone! Lol, Babe!
Well, I used to have pen friends, too. Then we all grew up and stopped writing letters. It was nice, really. |

hmmm I miss those good old days when I had special letter paper (Basildon Bond?) and fine Parker pens to write real letters to my friends.
I still read newspapers (real ones) and I still read real books.
But internet introduced some very fine real friends to me, and I am so happy to have them as friends. I met some in person too. I visited two of them in Ankara, one paid back the visit with her husband and son. We are like brother and sister, or best friends. |
