What will happen if I say there was Armenian genocide in Turkey?

If your speech be considered as "insulting Turkishness", according to Article 301, you will prisoned for 6 months to 3 years.
If not, you will be known as an "anti-Turk" and a "traitor" for Turkey, then you have to leave the country to save you life.

Nothing will happen to you but you will tire of the rhetorics and the rebuttals and you will finally say why don't you let the international courts decide once and for all to put a close to the issue?

One suggestion, Why don't you talk about something more important instead? Like the genocide in Sudan or if you want to hit close to home, talk about more recent events such as the massacre of Azerbaijani Turks in Azerbaijan in the 90s or the wanton desecration of Azeri heritage sites by the Armenians in plain sight. That at least is easily verifiable.

Well honey if you were in France, for making a comment for that subject you would go to prison. Some countries are not really democratic are they?
But in Turkey probably they are going to try to explain what happened, you are going to have a loong talk:)
Turkish people are patient look at everybody here who are trying to answer this very same question and versions of it patiently.
We have a lot of Armenian originated Turkish citizens. As actors, singers, architects or just people and they are happy.
Nothing is going to happen to you but i am sure that you will talk a lot...

You can say all you want, nothing will happen. Turkey is a democracy. There are conflicting reports about what each side did during that period of time so accepting and apologizing right away is not a rational option. If the armenians sided up with russians and sabotaged the military operations and terrorized and massacred the turkish population, then they deserved a deportation. And I still believe that even their descendants today have this destructive and hateful side which might have caused them to murder their fellow turks. That is all to that.

I´m sure nothing will happen to you as you are a "private" person. Not so long ago a well known Turkish author (sorry don´t remember his name) was killed because he wrote about the Armenian genocide in Turkey. As well known Turkey´s official opinion is that such a thing has never happened, although the world knows it has.
