Whats a good european city to visit for a 3-day weekend?

apart from anywhere in ireland, cos i already live there :-)
Somewhere relaxing, nice scenery, good food and things to do apart from clubbing. Its more of a chilling out holiday than a party one.

Prague, Budapest, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Munich, Vienna, Barcelona, Florence, Rome, ... there are lots of good places depending on exactly when you want to go and what your interests are. Personally, I like local festivals, so I try to find someplace with an event going on.

Istanbul.

Half of the city is in Asia, the other half in Europe. That alone makes it worth checking out.

But there are lots more. Historically, it was the political seat of three great important Empires (including the Ottoman and Byzantine Empires). You can also check out the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar (with 58 streets of pure shopping, it's the biggest in the world!). Best of all, most of the landmarks are close to one another and accessible by foot. (That means you can squeeze a lot of sightseeing into your three-day visit.)

Avoid Paris/Istanbul. The rest are good though. My personal preferance would be any city in Italy. Enjoy!

And Sophie, please piss off with the advertising. No one wants to go to your 4th World shithole, not even for free.

Barcelona. I was there for a day last year while I was on holidays in Spain and I regret not having more time to look through the shops, stalls and go sight seeing! My parents said that if we ahd a few more days we would have gone back but we went the day before our flight home!

Anna
I'd say Prague without a shadow of a doubt.
