Why does it have to be one or the other?
Why can't you love Greece but also accept her faults and problems and try to help find solutions?

A person who is old and smart AND educated would know enough not to hate anybody.

And as far as I see being young and proud also means being ignorant about the subjects you are proud about.

Let go of your superiority complex and read a little. Then you will see that humanity is a whole. And then you will be able to appreciate things of those that you call "the other" right now.

The more important is to live your life without getting affected by what some internet users (with no life ) say.

If you are proud,then you do well, why you must lose your temper by some others?
You don't know that "person who HATES the Greek culture yet is old and smart...and mean?" and you don't have to, let along being affected by his/her words.

You have to taking serious,words by wise people,who know things,have lived some things in their lives, and will spread their knowledge to you in person, because they care about you,and they really know more (family,friends,etc)

Let them hate Greek culture, the fact that they are keep talking about Greeks and Greece have to say something.They are just seeking for attention.
Making Greece their first thought in the morning and the last at night (as they do) must make you feel flattered.

It is better to be young, proud and naive. Yes!

The problem is, that some young people never are proud in the real sense.
And then they turn old, ugly and disappointed with everything in their past.

The ones who are "mean", old and ugly are saved from this disappointment by being sensible and "mean" in their past.

It is some kind of defence (like the armour of medieval Knight) against the stream of life.

Being Greek that is proud of their culture yet young and naive.
Because if your proud of your culture then for some reason it seems like you are a better person but if your young and naive it is better than being old and a racist. I'm young so I'm still learning and soon I wont be naive anymore.

No smart person hates the Greek culture, because the Greek culture is at the base of the culture of the entire western world. Greeks do have the right to be proud about this heritage.
However, this is not enough. You can'trely on heritage to be proud for being Greek. You must be doing things why Greece should be proud of you.

I doubt many people on this forum that claim themselves to know and be Greek are not even half a Greek. The question is very stupid because every body knows the impact of Greece on our lives today. The ones that don't know, either pretend not to know or are ignorant of true History.
Aristotle,Socrates,Phidias,Sophocles,Euc... can write all night names that impacted the world up to this date.

Vasiliki and Totally Blunt ARE the best.Tranquility,off being happy,alive or dead you don't have to be Italian,American,Russian or Greek.YOU have to be just an alive creature.This question is for some Fakedonians who do not miss the chance to come in Greek travel section and troll in regular answers.One of those people can be called and Totally blunt (even if i agree with her at some points) cause she came in our section and some times try to support her culture in regular historical questions about Greece.
