In my experience, foreigners have found that Garanti Bank does not live up to its promise. Most of my friends chose Ä°Åž BANKASI.
I've taught students from most of the big banks and the brightest were usually from Ä°ÅŸ. Purely using this measure, I wouldn't touch Ak Bank with a barge pole - a manager from there was caught blatently cheating in an exam! |

On the day, UK Pound = 2.1458. In any other exchange centre I'd have received 172 T. Lira for my £80. I was quoted 167. After they had counted out the money to me (which included a large amount of 5 Lira notes), I'd later realised I'd been shortchanged to just 147 Lira! When later I went back to query, another man told me that they had entered 147 in the book, and then pretended not to speak English! Don’t use this place – you have been warned! |
