When in Holland, several films carried the phrase "bioscoop". What does this mean in English?

The bioscope was an early form of projector that was used in traveling shows. When cinemas were established as fixed buildings the name was used for the theaters in some places - and remains so today. Bioscoop is the Dutch language version.

Known english terms are:

Drive in cinemas are not really common in Holland, but that could be named bioscoop too - Open Lucht Bioscoop (open air cinema)
