Yeah. Their sewerage pipes are too narrow for the paper. |

yes the plumming is not very good its hard to get used to but like with all things that are hard to get used to, you will have totally got used to it by the time you leave so when you get home you keep throwing ther paper on the floor in your bathroom |

Yep it's ture! But not half as bad as it sounds! If you're in a decent hotel the maids come everyday and empty it. Takes a bit of getting used to at first though and eberyone puts some down the loo! It's not like it floods everytime you do it! Don't worry about it! Greece is truly a lovely country! Have a good holiday! |

yes I'm afraid it's true, some toilet pipe are thin and it may cause them to block. also all the waste goes to a tank that has to be emptied often. |

My grandmother used to tell us not to use toilet paper cause it's bed for the women's sensitive area and she said "TOILET PAPER IS FOR OUR GUESTS AND VISITORS".
A bidet looks like a toilet but has warm-water jets for personal hygiene after you use the toilet.
Older people had "bidets" in their bathrooms and so they only had toilet paper for their guests.
The bidet is a very common thing in Greek homes. |

The answer to that is a simple YES, and if you don't put it in the bin it can cause serious and expensive damage, they are working on it to make things better, but it will be some time yet, YASAS. |

YES, It's true and I dont know why it sounds so strange to you?
It's something very common in Greece and they consider it a bad habit when you throw it into the toillet. I dont know why, but I think that it's better for the sewage system and the toillets. |

yes it is true, every where in greece you must do this. Theres nothing horrid about it, basicley the drainage pipes are much thiner that other places in europe. Theres always a special bid provided. You'll get used to it! and dont forget to do it or you'll cause a flood, which isnt very nice for the owners to clean up you crap! Thailands worse..belive me! |

The Greek toilets
One can wonder and one can be disgusted at the standard of the Greek toilets. Part of the explanation might be, that the Greek himself never uses a public toilet. A Greek will do almost whatever it takes, to use his own toilet! So you see,….it's mainly a problem for the tourist! |
|

Lilac Lady
 |
Yes this is true because they don't have a good sewage system. It's a bit pongy and embarrassing so make sure you take some diarrhoea tablets with you and if you feel you really need to you can get sanitary bags which smell nice, they would be with the feminine hygiene things in the shops. |

Yes true, and no it is not just a problem for the tourists, as locals are also unable to put loo paper into toilets at home. It is horrible, especially if they don't empty the little toilet paper bin regularly. Maybe not so bad for guys, but girls, when you sit down, you are generally face to face with that little bin, and often it does not have a lid!!!!! Still, its an improvement, Cyprus for example only got running water in 1960!!! |

Yes and it disgusting when you go to a pub or club, it's all over the floor, you really have to watch where you are treading. The toilets also smell awful as well because of this! |
