Well , my hometown, as you all know, is not my current neighborhood ( as I am an expatriate since I was 2 years old).

In Manisa, more exactly in Akhisar ( the place where I was born), we have delicious köfte that we can find in most of the restaurants ( from cheap "eat and go" restaurants to classy and more expensive restaurants ).

Iki buçuk porsyon, yaninda yesil taze biber, tomates, kizarmis ekmek, ve bol ayran.

Something really basic, in fact, but the difference is the very particular flavor. That's just so delicious that I nearly eat my fingers after having finished the meal.
I miss that, and it's difficult to find exactly the same taste in Paris turkish restaurants or even in other cities of Turkey.

I really don't have a hometown since I keep travelling around a lot. But I have my favorite places.
The small cafe on the corner just behind 5th Ave. Manhattan,
There was a nice small 'bufe' near Taksim, Istanbul.
Also the 'bufe' at Maltepe, Ankara... they used to make delicious 'toast' with fresh orange juice mmmmm
Haci Baba baklava in Ankara.
the waffles they sell in the streets in Brussels (bell gauffre?)
Bacon & Eggs in London for breakfast lol
Steaming hot 'corek' and 'hellim' in Cyprus

I would definitely recommend Iskender kebap at Iskender Restaurant- Bursa :)

I indulged myself in it the whole summer and didn't gain weight and that must be a miracle of God :)))

If you come to my village (Adlington, Lancashire) you must go to Sharjus Indian restaurant. It is an old church that has been made into a restaurant and the food is wonderful.

I miss the spicy chicken pide from Paradise Pide in turunc when I am back in England. It's so hard to get pide here, I keep pestering the guys at our local kebab shop to make it but they don't think it will sell well :(

Blunt you missed to mention Çengelköy Cucumber & Çengelköy Sycamore Maple.

çetin
blunt dostum,
i recommend to you at ÇİÇEKPASAJI in İSTANBUL - cold beer with the mussel and kokoreç.
i like that place!

Not completely about food but, when you go to Üsküdar, i'd recommend all to go up to Fethi Paşa korusu and have a warm tea with the great view of istanbul boğazı.

if you come to Caddebostan Istanbul don't miss the chance of going to Caddebostan sea coast to go to House café and drink their alcoholic lemonade :-)
