Where's the warmest European location to visit in May?

My husband and I are traveling for business to London early May. We want to extend our trip to someplace warm in Europe. We were thinking about Sicily or Montenegro. Any suggestions? We live in Seattle and have had a really cold winter. We need to thaw out.

Hi, the southern Greek islands such as Crete and Rhodes are very warm and well touristic organized. They start their tourist season every year at April.
Also the island of Cyprus is a great destination with warm weather and many quality 4 and 5 stars hotels. Give them a try.

Definitely some place in the mediterranean. I'd probably look at Greece.

Here is a link to Rick Steves' Greece information page:

Bon Voyage!

Oh I agree with you why don't you try Spain? Or Ireland!

Look there for weather conditions!

mark v
The meditarranean islands, like sicily, should be comparitively warm

Tapatio
probably Mallorca, Spain....there will be many tourists though....so you'll fit right in =)

Claudia
South Portugal!

Sicily or south Italy Is a good choice too.

And south Spain too: Barcelona, Andalusia, ...

Have fun!

richard555
Sounds good......... You could also check out southern Spain, Portugal or Greece. They should all be warm in May.

qwine2000
The warmest European location in May is Crete or Rhodes in Greece

fcavenaghi999
Hi!I think that the warmest place this period is Mallorca of Spain.

Donna
Italy, Greece, turkey. Buy me a ticket, I'll go anywhere over there. Smiling..........~~~

NS
andalucia (south of spain) is a very interesant place to visit

dutchlady
I lived in Holland, and when we wanted to get away from cold, wet winter (similar conditions to Seattle), we would drive into Spain. Italy and France are also nice, but Spain is really a cheap place to be. Because weather is changing so much, you might want to use a search engine to get local weather from a year ago just to give you an idea. There are wonderful flights (cheap) out of London to other areas. If you know the dates, you could even get your plane ticket ahead of time, and save lots of money. Easyjet is really cheap the earlier you order. Have fun; europe is a wonderful place to visit and you'll bring back lots of memories, I'm sure. And don't forget, B&B's, and pensions are the rooms yo might want; they are clean, and so much cheaper than a hotel. If money is no object, enjoy the best hotel you can find, of course. :)
