Any suggestions of great places to go that combine beautiful beaches, great day trips etc for a family. What places are there to see ?

Turkey is a very Beautiful country which ever city to visit and there is always plenty to do in every tourist city. Also you mention economical family holiday, dont book your holiday in your country (I presume england) only book you flight (from turkish airlines) then pay for your holiday in turkey because 1.00 pound exchanged here is over 2.50 liras. believe me the pound goes along way in turkey. As for where to go try Bodrum it has its own airport so you can fly direct. Also most brits go to Bodrum cus its a great place with lots of attraction and tours on and off shore. |

i am 14 and one of my best holidays was in turkey!
we went to a 5 star hotel in side (sorry i have looked everywhere but cant find the name of the hotel but it was 5* and began with a P sorry)
it was great for me and my family (mum, dad and brother).
we went into the city of side and (i cant really remember) but i remember some ruins which me and my dad likes and the shopping was great ( but the shop keepers were a bit pushy) so just say no and they go away :D i remember the beach being lovely the sea was so warm :D if you have children i would recommend this hotel is was AMAZING it had everything (pool and slides- but away from the relaxing pool, lovely food and different bars) it was expencive i think but it would be my most wonderful holiday ever if it wasnt for florida:D
i hope i helped and i would go to side if i was you :D
have a lovley holiday and visit all the markets there great :D
i have got the name of the hotel now here is a link:D

Altinkum, definitely :-)
Cheap, 3 lovely sandy beaches that aren't overcrowded (depends which season you go, july/august is busiest) with so many bars and restaurants, but still safe enough for a family. There is only one main large nightclub, so it's not really a 'party scene'.
You can also get a mini bus to Kuşadası, where there is the largest water park in Europe, adaland (I'm sure entry is 20 euros, but free for children under 7 and for children under 12 there is a discount). There's also several places in Altinkum which organise trips to other places, I highly recommend Ephesus and Pamukkale!
Wherever you go, enjoy your holiday, Turkey is a lovely place! |

Icemeler, its just along the road from Marmaris. You get a much better beach and atmosphere for children. If you want a day out to a waterpark or something marmaris only 10mins away, |

The Summer just gone I went to a place (unwillingly) called Turunc (pronounced tarunch)I absolutely loved it! I went with my kids&the extended family. Great beach, safe sea, tourist trips easily accessed&very family friendly. Turunc isn't very touristy like other places, no rowdy bars etc all the businesses are run by local families, our accomodation was very comfortable&run by a lovely Turkish family it was exceptionally clean. Our apartment cost £25 per night peak season! and slept 4.The family even gave everyone a gift at the end of their stay which i thought was so thoughtful&generous. There was a little old man who sold fruit at the end of the road it was so lovely! We are going back this year.I cant wait

hope you go&have a great time! |

Dalyan, Fethiye or Cesme ( Çeşme- I don't know if you have the necessary Turkish characters)
In fact, you can stay in Fethiye which has beautiful beaches and go on a daily tour and see Dalyan which is marvelous both historically and naturally. They are very close.

Here is a good link for you, about places you can go, but I think it does not include Dalyan which is an incredible place. There are some pictures for you below, but they don't include everything.
Cesme ( and Alacatı - very close to Cesme ) have wonderful beaches too.

You can go to Antalya too- there are all ranges of hotels- from the very cheap to the very expensive, it has beautiful beaches, waterfalls, historic places, shopping places , everything wrapped together. |

i would recommend Marmaris. It's got lovely scenery, nice food, friendly, plenty of night life if u want it. lots of shops & markets & is cheap cause it's not in the EU. Nice beaches, especially in near by icmeler. they have boat trips, dive trips, jeep safaris, waterparks, lazy day cruises, turkish baths, day trips to Rhodes, u can visit places of interest, e.g. natural mud baths, dalyan, turtle beach , kings tombs in the cliff face, trips to Ephesus, Pamukkale, visit traditional turkish villages, go to turkish nights, watch turkish dancing, belly dancing, break dancing etc it's nice & flat so it's good for all ages or people with buggies or in wheelchairs. The weather is lovely & it's very clean. |
