Slovenia : mountains or sea
Croatia
Albania
Turkey
Greek Islands: small family oriented places
Only these destinations offer nice holidays for a reasonable price. Charter flights quite cheap

maybe somewhere like Croatia. You can get buses ig you don't want to drive or take boats (there are lots (especially in the summer) and its a cheap place to visit compared to other places in Europe. THe scenery is stunning along the coast (lots of bright blue and green water, with white rocks and the landscape is white hills and little vegetation) and in places like Dubrovnik (there are lots of B&B and private accommodation that can cater for families (if you don't mind sharing a room for a night or 2).
Other places of interest would be Split (ferries travel here as well) and Zadar. THere are also lots of Islands which would be well worth the effort and I also know you can hire boats (I am not sure of the price here, but I don't tihnk its outrageous
Croatia was one of my favourite places and well worth looking at. |

I would suggest London,as you can travel by underground, which unlike here is a safe way to travel. But not during rush hour! you can cover a lot of ground and a lot of historic places. The trains run 24 hours I believe. |

Disneyland Paris, Legoland in Billund, Denmark ( THE Legoland) or Legolands in UK or Germany.
You can book a Disneyland or Legoland package online that includes accommodation, breakfast and free coach transfers between hotel and the theme park.
Bookings and further info about these parks are available at:
www.disneylandparis.com
www.legoland.com
And they both offer loads of fun for adults too. Good places for parents to develop that special bond with their kids, especially in such a busy world. |

Any place that has a connection through public transport like train with your home.
Depending on the age and interests of the children I would look at different options:
* Big city: Paris, Vienna, Berlin, Prag, Rome, ...
* Country side: Cornwall, Switzerland, ...
* Round trip by train without staying longer than 2 nights at the same place, using youth hostels. |
