Hi, Cyprus is great for Adults and Children, Protaras is lovely most of the hotels are on or quite near to the beach, and the hotels and apartments are lovely, there is so much to see and do. Protaras is in two areas the main area and Pernera, the latter is quieter but still has a lot to see and do.

A nice place, away from the beaten path and great for families is Thassos.
Close to the main land (20mins by ferry), 16hrs/day ferry service, full medical facilities, good quite beaches, good night life. Lots of interesting places to visit and things to do.

Thassos is the North most island of Greece.

Are you asking for a holiday or to live? As I would definitely give different answers for both. I would choose an island (for a holiday) which has a direct airport - I wouldn't want to have to take my kids on a long ferry journey.
I would also choose somewhere with shallow sea and a hotel with a swimming pool. Greece is great for families (apart from a few spoiled areas which have been taken over by lager louts) Greeks expect you to take your children out and are not shocked to see kids out with parents after midnight (unlike other nationalities).
To answer your question better - we need to know what you want from your holiday (or are you deciding to live here) and where you're flying in from which will give a better idea on islands close by ... either by ferries or inflights.

For a holiday, right? Most holiday resorts in Greece are good for families, the list is too long. You might want to avoid Club 18-30 type places, though. Just check out the beach as most kids like sandy beaches.
