Where is a great Mediterranean summer getaway? |
My partner and I would like a nice (relatively cheap) summer break in the sun. Neither of us like the "over the top BRIT tourist destination". We'd liked somewhere quiet with a good selection of restaurants, bars, activities. Does anyone know anywhere we could try?

Rhodes, the resort of Pefkos. Good beaches, lots of sunshine, good restaurants, friendly, (good looking) people and lots to suit all interests. You can also do a daytrip to Turkey.
Teletext has great offers, my friend and I paid 240 pounds each for flight,transfers and a 2 bed apartment, (for one week).

Egypt is a wonderful place
they have great beaches, good restaurants, and bars and 1 dollar is 7 pounds so it wont be expensive at all its a really beautiful place!

There is a really great small town just outside of Pisa in Italy called Terenia....ita a great place. Really quiet small town, hardly anyone speaks english. Its right on the coast too. My wife and I stayed there for two weeks a few summers ago during a long tour of Europe. We found a great little effenciancy apartment building right on the beach for like only 75 Euros a day...nothing fancy, bed, bathroom, small kitchen, and a TV that didnt really work, but we could litterally walk out the door and be on the beach. Plus they owned a private porch on the beach with tables and chairs and a grill. It was a great town. We really got to live like we were residents of Italy for the few weeks we were there. It was grea. |
