Where is the best place to go on holiday in the winter?

I noticed that most of the other answerers suggested places to you that were very hot, during that countries summertime. Now, why would you go from being very cold to being very hot? That doesn't make nay sence. I suggest a mild, breezy place, such as Argentina: Argentine Patagonia. You could go near:

The Atlantic Coast is home to an astonishing array of wildlife along its length. Most miraculous, though, is the small splay of land Península Valdés, where Southern Right Whales come to breed in Spring, and where you can find Wales of another kind in the Welsh colony of Gaimán.

Or:

Tierra del Fuego, at the very end of the world, truly becomes a land of fire when lenga forest carpeting the mountain slopes turn crimson in April. Start at the breezy little pioneer town of Ushuaia, a welcoming base for the beautiful national park and boat trips down the famous Beagle Channel.

Hope I've helped! Have a happy vacation!

It's up to you? Mountain or Sea? I like both so...not questions....i just check my wallet and...I decide....often just the money for the bus ticket to get the beach! :o)

If you're after a wintery holiday, I would definitely say Lapland. My fiance and I went for a week in February and it was absolutely amazing. The snow was the thickest I have ever seen and it is a real winter wonderland, full of unspoilt natural beauty. You can visit the nearby ski slopes which are fantastic, go snowmobiling through the stunning woodland and go on a sleigh ride pulled by real reindeer. If you would rather just relax though, it is an ideal place for that too. We stayed at the Akashotelli (also known as the Snow Elf Hotel) in Yllas, which was great and there are plenty of log cabins to rent too. We really did have the time of our lives and I would recommend it to anyone for a magically dreamy getaway.

If you want sun, sea and sand then go to The Gambia in West Africa. If you want skiing, there's plenty of place to visit in Europe or if you want to broaden your horizens, go to Japan

As far as a normal European vacation, most of Europe gets cold in the winter. Most of the larger cities are far less pleasant to walk around in the winter, and the Mediterranean is not warm enough for beaches in the winter. The places where it doesn't get too cold are the Southern parts of Portugal, Spain, France, and Italy - cities like Lisbon, Seville, Granada, Marseilles, Nice, and Naples, or the countryside areas around them, are worth visiting in the winter.

You could do a winter-focused trip, like Christmas markets or winter sports in the Alps. Or go to a city like London or Paris where there are a lot of indoor places of interest.

That all depends what kind of holiday you want
