may i suggest you contact your local travel agency and get hold of some brochures .. and then you can browse the hotel / apartment on the web and find out more about it.. or just use your search engine .. eg.. hotels in turkey and you can work your way through them! Sorry can't help further..but i've never been to Turkey and i'm younger than you .. but I do work in the Travel Industry! My friend is in Turkey at the moment.. great weather and is loving it .. hope you find somewhere nice and have fun :-) x |

There are plenty of places. It depends on your interests and your budget. I would suggest contacting a tour operator. One I have used many times in the past is www.tourkey.org |

Where am I?
|
It totally depends on what your goal of the visit is. Most of the 4* + hotels have nice spa's and massage places, like the local hamam. Some of those hotels are not in a very busy city, but are more for relaxing. The old town of Istanbul is very nice and so is Izmir.
There you can book luxurious hotels, but also just bed and breakfast, so you can try local Turkish dishes, which I do recommend, unless you hate garlic. |

Ok...i have travelled to most parts of Southern turkey, and for your age group without doubt the best resort would be turgetreise, beautyful harbour, small town, cosy restaurants....I recomment the hotel fiorita...right on the seafront.....enjoy. |

Well every tourist visits Turkey's South and West Coasts. They go to Antalya,Mugla,Istanbul...But there are many other options. For example I advise you to go on a tour in Black Sea Region of Turkey. You will see the greenest places on earth, unbelievably beatiful valleys, huge forests, gigantic mountains and etc...The weather is cool especially if you dont want to be burned in very high temperatures in South.Make a search in the internet, call your travel agency, see a few pictures and you will see what i mean.. |

So many possibilities,
I assume you mean more quiet places.
I am listing the places along the coats in order of distance with respect to Istanbul (because you must also stay in Sultanahmet/Istanbul for a few days first) Yalova, Erdek, Assos (less touristy places in the north) Altinkum, Turgut Reis (Bodrum) Dalyan, Oludeniz (Fethiye) Kas, Side, Alanya...
Why don't you ask recommendation of a local travel agent:

My grandparents have been visiting the town of Marmaris for about 6 years. They go every May and October. Me and my mum started to go over there about 4 years ago, and my mum loved it so much she now lives out there!!! She's lived there for 3 years now, and she is 49. Marmaris is right at the bottom of turkey and is Beautiful. If you consider it and would like to know of hotels suitable for your needs, please E-mail me and I would be glad to ask my mums recommendations. |

I really liked Dalyan.
It's on a river with Lycian tombs in the cliffs above it. You take a short boat trip to the sea each day watching kingfishers flying around you. The beach is a turtle nesting ground. You can also take a boat trip the other way up the river to a big lake and there's also plenty of archaeology around if you don't like lying on a beach all the time. If you are adventurous you can take a canoeing trip and watch the turtles plop into the river either side of you as you go by.
We loved this place. |
