Where should I go on holiday this year? |
I am considering either Italy (Venetian Riviera), Cyprus (Paphos) or somewhere in Malta. I have never been to any and would like more information.
I am looking for hot weather, sand and sea as well as lots of bars and restaurants. I also want things to do, places to go and things to see while I am there. I am looking for something a little different from your typical holiday to Spain.
Lastly I am looking for a self catering holiday and am willing to pay £500-£700 depending on how good the place I am going is.
Any suggestions or advice would be great.
Thanks. |

malta's gonna give you all that.
weather's really hot, sun's always shining, beaches are EVERYWHERE (they're especially nice in gozo, where they're not as crowded)
nightlife is great especially if you're going to sliema, st.julians or paceville. prices at restaurants vary, but you'll find that some can be really cheap if you shop around. the food is great in malta too. drinks are also really cheap.
there are ALOT of places to visit all round malta. malta has an extremely rich history, dating back to times even before stongehenge and the pyramids. you'll find temples, churches, catacombs, knights' palaces, museums, fortified towns...all worth seeing. tradition and culture are also very rich in malta, especially in gozo.
one piece of advice:
if you want a quiet relaxing holiday - go to gozo. it's one of malta's three main islands - it's more quiet and peaceful than the main island but you'll still find many places to visit.
if you want to have a blast, go to malta and find a hotel around sliema or st.julians, where you'll be closest to shops, entertainment and great night-life.
places of interest: Mdina, Buskett, Citadel, Valletta, st. John's cathedral, Mnajdra, Ramla bay, comino, Ggantija, mosta church, museum of fine arts, birgu waterfront, paceville, sliema..... |

If you're considering coming to Cyprus, then come to Prptaras. Everything you need, all in one place. The hotels are situated along the shoreline of fig Tree Bay and Flamingo Bay, and are all within a short walk of shops, bars and restaurants. ( Try The Olympus, Parko, Il Basilica, Island Affair)
From here, take a short drive along the coast to Konnos Bay...a little further to Agia Napa, and no, don't believe all the hype......Agia Napa has much more going for it!! Great beaches, and loads of bars and restuarants; Tonys Taverna, The Avenue, Vrassoss Fish Restaurant, then on to Larnaca, Lemesos, Lefkosia ( Nicosia) and The Troodos Mountains...Finally, yes, go to Paphos...you can take in the mosaics down in the harbour, and the fort, down in the harbour, and, just a short drive away, The tombs of the Kings....you should be able to do the Paphos things in a day

I would recommend the Vrissiana Hotel in Protaras....this has recentlt been refurbished, and is in a prime position. I'm sure you would love it!
I live just a short drive from Agia Napa....I'm sure you would love you're holiday here....I did.....thats why I came to live here! |

A Greek island. The Greeks are best at hospitality in all respects. Go and you will fully understand. Start with Skiathos or Rhodes. Thomson Greek Island brochure does self catering and is arguably the safest company to travel with. They have clout when it comes to take off queues. Only Olympic Airways take precedence! |

Don,t bother going abroad for a week stay in the UK, I sat in my conservatory in Pembrokeshire yesterday and even with the doors and windows open it was 40 degrees. What aheat wave we're having here. Our new sub tropical water park is opening this June - who needs Spain! |
