Where should I take my mum on mother's day?

I usually take my mum away for mother's day. This year it happened to be 2 weeks after her birthday and I took her to Nice & Monaco, but did not visit her on mother's day (last sunday).

I also celebrate international mothers day on May 11th, where should I take her?

I can't afford anywhere too expensive, just a day trip anywhere, probably no more than about £40.00 each. Thanks for any idea's
Additional Details
Thank you all for lots of idea's. I should have given more details. Usually we spend every mothers day together. I suggested taking her away for the day, as I know she loves to go to places she hasn't been to before. I have kids, so almost all mother's day's in the last 7 years has been spent at home with the kids. We have done, spa, France, belguim, show & dinner, parks & walks, isle of wight, Dublin and almost all of Scotland, Wales & England. I'm looking for some fresh idea's that can be done in a day, maybe a return flight somewhere? I wanted Jersey or Guernsey but it works out too expensive. I'll be checking back for more idea's, thank you all

Ask her what she would always like to do, and she did not find the opportunity or the time to do it (be carefull not to let her understand why you are asking), and then make the appropriate reservations.

If you don't want to ask her, theater and dinner sounds great, but if you can afford it, maybe a small day trip in the countryside would be a wonderfull surprise for her!

I say just take her to a nice restaurant or by an ocean, lake, or river or something

mums just wan2 be loved and remembered. You are obviously doing that already. Buy her some nice maybe unusual flowers, or plant, and just take her for a nice drive, beach, skytop lookout, somewhere special. spending quality time need not cost anything.

Take her to a hospital and get permission to look at the newborns. Then hold her hand and tell her how amazing it is that you were once just like those babies and that because of her love you know you are so very blessed to be here now and with her.

You shouldn't be asking us. You know your mother best, so take her somewhere you will both enjoy yourselves. It doesn't even have to be expensive or cost anything at all. I usually just like spending more time with my mother, especially in this busy world.

eat shopping

Mr. President
actually, i personally believe that mums will not really consider the place where you are going to treat her. what's important for her is that you value her and that you show how you really value her. so my suggestion is for your whole family to celebrate mother's day in your own house.. it will really make your mother happy and at the same time you'll not incurr more expenses.
