Where would you recommend my husband and I go for our anniversary? |
Ideally, somewhere in Europe for 1-2 nights. From Britain. We didn't do anything for our 25th last year so want to make up for it. Not toooo expensive, though! Thanks. Additional Details Good so far!
Avalon - strangely we were kind of thinking rome - we went there a few years back - so romantic. Wondered if we were lacking imagination by repeating it though. |

I have not been to Rome but we did Paris last year for our 25th, even though it was very cold the weekend we arrived it was a beautiful city, very clean with lots to do and see for the 4 days we stayed
I must say even though I am not normally into stage shows or cabaret the moulin rouge was the best show you could wish to see and was certainly worth the money
another equally nice city is Barcelona with lots to see, good food, a vibrant city what comes to life late at night
I would say Barcelona is the cheapest of the 2 places for a weekend away but both are equally enjoyable
hope this helps
thanks

i was going to recommend rome as i've been there and was mesmerized by it
an alternative that you may not have considered would be holland. its not all about the red light district and marijuana! (but a plus if you're into that kinda thing) there are beautiful landmarks to visit and things, understandably are very relaxed there |

Paris!
1-2 nights is a nice bit of time to be there.
Lovely romantic place to celebrate anniversary.
Taking the Eurostar should be reasonable re: price.
And Eurostar is also good re: travel time.
(Second suggestion: Brussels, also via Eurostar.) |

I love Prague and used to live there, but I think the tourism is mainly geared towards stag parties at this point. Something unusual that I really enjoy is Copenhagen. The flight is not that long, the airport is pretty centrally located. Very romantic walks around the water, great and bars and cafes you can duck into should a little rain come up and waterways lined with neat little shops. Hotels and food are reasonable, but I imagine the flight would be cheap.
Check it out on the web. I was reluctant to go there at first (cold in winter) but fell in love with the place. People are helpful, and you wont run any risk of dodgy hotel rooms. I would suggest 2 nights if you can.
Good luck whatever you choose. |

Barcelona I spent a day there last summer. Shops are brill, great variety of restaurants, and there is a beach just out of the town. It is my 20th anniversary in Sept and I would love to go but as you say it is the price. |

In addition to some of the cities already mentioned (Rome, Paris, Barcelona and Prague), I'd add Lisbon in Portugal. It has a really nice picturesque old town centre that's nice to walk around, great food, romantic, etc. It's not too far from the UK and fairly cheap.

You might think this strange, but my partner and myself love Berlin. Give it a try. Failing that try Prague. |
