hmm How far are you willing to travel?
You can see sotuh fo france (realllllly nice) then go to spain to portugal (the guy above wasn't lieing when he said lisbon is an AMAZING city) back to spain again and back... orrrr you can go to Milan than travel to Croatia through Bosnia and Serbia (I here this is a beautiful and safe place) down to greece.... Another option is to go to the south of italy and catch a fairy to greece.
There are so many cool places to see where you are. It is impossible to name them all!
I backpack frequently. I recently started to write some articles about backpacking to europe on my blog. I give a lot of tips and advise with regards to traveling to europe. you might want to check it out at

Come to Leeds, West Yorkshire, it's great (and cheap) as long as you don't get seduced by Harvey Nicks in the city centre.!! We've got great hotels, bars, shops, surrounding countryside, the Royal Armouries and Leeds Loiners are the salt of the earth; friendly, and engaging. |

I would say DUBLIN would be a great bet. No language barriers, lots of pubs, cafes and shopping. And lots of drunk men of all ages just waiting to greet some ladies. Also, bars/clubs close on the early side (like 11pm -1am), so you don't feel like you're missing out on anything when you have to go home. |

Antwerp in Belgium!! It has not only been named the European cultural capital once or twice but for woman its an excellent place to visit. Not only is it the diamond hub or EU, it also has excellent shops ranging from designer to market stalls!! There are great touristy things to do as well in regards to art museums, tours and just walking around the city and seeing the architecture on every corner. The best thing about Antwerp though must be , in my opinion, the night life. Belgium being the birth place of beer, there are hundreds of pubs and bars littered throughout the town with excellent varieties of drinks and food on offer. And the icing on the cake is that fact that it is very easy to get to from Uk and that every hotel in antwerp is relatively priced and conviently located within walking distance of the centre!!! I hope this helps! |

These are my favoirites: Barcelona, Venice, Vienna, Istanbul, Paris. Palaces, museums, and churches by day, way too much fun at night. Fabulous people in each. Love them all.
Have a great time. Let me know where you go! |

I think Paris appeals to a wide range of interests as there is lots to do, a place for a good laugh and lots of culture and history.
Other places could be Prague....its really beautiful too with lots of history and its beer rich there with a relaxed atmosphere.
I also like Duborvnik...with stunning coastlines and a beautiful city..its small and does not need long (only a couple of days really) but worth seeing..... |

Have you ever been to Lisbon the capital of Portugal? It's a lovely city- lots of small winding cobbled streets lined with little cafes and shops, beautiful architecture and great views out over the estuary and the coast. There are lots of historical and cultural sites, excellent, affordable restaurants and a great nightlife- it is quite laidback so there is something for everyone from clubs to wine bars to jazz clubs and salsa and much more. You can read more about the area at http://www.portugal-sport-and-adventure.com/central-portugal.html If you visit then you should also take day trips to the coast- try Cascais (the train winds along the coast from Cais do Sodre in Lisbon and only takes half an hour or so) and Sintra (by bus or car) which is a very historical and romantic woodland town with spectacular palaces and castles and lovely walks. If you like aquariums the oceanarium in Lisbon is massive and amazing- look out for the cute otters!
Lisbon is quite cheap for an EU capital, there are lots of places to stay and it's only three hours from the UK
Have a great holiday! |

Hey there "aprty" ladies well first of all it is really great to read that you ladies of different ages get along so well on a vacation and most of all that you were able to find things in common. You really shoud cherish this.
Anyhow to answer your question:
IF you wan to stay in the same league as Rome (culture/history/beautiful building and (probably something you all like to look at as well...) men!!!: I would just say go to Barcelona (if you do let me know so I can give you some pointers).
Of course Paris is oh so much interesting and romantic as well ( and of course ladies the FRENCH men hon hon hon...!).
Have you ever been to Edinburgh? I just love this place and especially in the summer during the festival (quite crowded though but vibrant....)/ Prague is gorgeous but has a different vibe to it ( cannot put my finger ont he reason though - perhpas it is becaue you will find a majority of younger people there I do not know)
Now let us not forget NYC (good ol'New York); guess n need to explain what to find heretherwise I would be going on for days... and nowadays there are some pretty good deals (airfare and hotels).
In the same 'genre' Chicago is getting more and more one of the best visited places as is Washington DC (perhpas wait until there is another president 'oops'should I have said that???). I also love Berlin..
So plenty of things to chose from I guess huh... Let us all know whare you have decided to go...
Bon Voyage

Well, New York has something for everyone and every age! Culture...museums, galleries, Broadway shows, concerts. History...Wall Street, Statue of Liberty, Trade Center site, beautiful architecture. Laughs... well just people watching is a laugh in itself, but if you need some help there are lots of pubs and some great comedy clubs and shows. You won't be disappointed. |
