Try going to Paris during the Soldes (in January and July). Everything is discounted up to 75%. It's a fantastic shopping time.

No doubt about it! Go to:
Paris - France
Milano and Firenze - Italy

know it all
Madrid

I've always had the best luck shopping in London than in Paris or other capitals. I find more of the funky styles I like than more staid stuff in Paris. (Unless you're talking serious designers which I'm not!). I also understood UK sizing conversions better.

Come in Bucharest-Romania, but hurry up ! You'll do a wonderful deal.

Spain is very chic and reasonable as compared to Italy and France. Madrid and Barcelona are great cities. Bucharest,Romania is also very reasonable!

The dollar is weak, so fashion won't be Target prices, but....Vienna is where I would go. The Stefansplatz: has some fun stores: H&M Collection (affordable, and not to be missed!), Zara's, have a look in Shoeps, check out the Manner Store. Kaerntner Strasse (: luxury shopping street )but also a downscale H&M not to be confused with H&M collection and a C&A with good student stuff).Julius Meinl am Graben (the most beautiful food store ever decorated in black, gold and red).... Yes, definitely Vienna. And you can put your feet up in a lovely cafe and have coffee and pastries or see the sights- original architecture from the 1500s up to present.......Oh and there is a little mall (Millenium city) at the Handelskai metro stop with lots of shops for clothes.

All the big cities are NOT cheap to go shopping. So I recommend u to go to Trieste in northern Italy or in Brescia, in Brescia there is lots of shops and they have on Saturday special markets..

Cheap? Define "cheap"?

Europe really isn't cheap, especially EU countries. Usually it's about 1 Euro to 2 US Dollars. Not really "cheap."

Ultimate in fashion would be Paris though.

?
ikkkk who wants to go to paris?

it's not even french any longer,

I don't know much about fashion, nor do I care... to me, fashion is irrelevant compared to whether something is functional and comfortable. Personally I couldn't give a rat's *** as to whether other people think it's fashionable or not... but that's me. As far as cheap and variety goes, you're better off looking to the east than to the west, where Europe is concerned--at least if you're going to restrict yourself to European capitals only, and not the hundreds of other non-capital cities in all of those countries. (Capital cities are not the only place to buy things.) Generally, the more touristy a place is, and the bigger the "name" of that place (compare Paris, France to Ljubljana, Slovenia) the more expensive the stores get. I found Ljubljana to be far cheaper in all aspects, not to mention easier to navigate, than Paris. So was Bratislava. Prague and Budapest are more well-known but are still far less expensive in most aspects than their more well-trodden western capital counterparts. I mean, everyone goes to London, Paris, Berlin, Rome, Madrid... but if you're going to insist on a western European country, at least look outside the capitals a little. You might find Koln or Frankfurt or Nurnberg cheaper than Berlin; Strassbourg and Metz cheaper than Paris; Belfast or Liverpool cheaper than London... the list goes on and on. Europe has a lot to offer, and although the capitals are definitely worth seeing, don't limit yourself to the typical tourist's itinerary! You'll be missing out on far more than you know.
