I adore Paris - breathtaking views, monuments and parties :) But if you want to see a place which starts to be popular and you can be one of the first to discover it - go to Krakow (Cracow) in Poland - beautiful galleries, historical monuments and low prices. |

Of the cities you listed, I think Barcelona is the most beautiful and also the most interesting.
There is lots to do in the city, they have great food, the people are really friendly - I think you'll have a great time. |

Been to all the ones you listed. Depends on what you want out of your trip.
If you want a lot of history you have Rome, with your ancient history. Barcelona has the beach as well as lots of history, too.
London, tons of history as well, and they speak english, just damn expensive!
Paris, lots of history too, great food, good place for night life as well.
Berlin, again tons of history, plus the party life there is AWESOME!!!!! And they have a great free tour offered there in front of the Dunken Donuts at the Zoo station.
Amsterdam, we yeah freaking rocks! Not a lot of history and stuff, but great place to just chill out for a bit. If you're into that go for it. I really enjoyed Berlin and Amsterdam the most.
Barcelona I heard has a great party scene, too!
Good luck on your travels |

I've been to Rome, Paris, Berlin and London and you can't really compare them. My least favourite was Paris, but maybe I just had too high expectations since all you hear is how romantic it is, which I didn't find it.
Rome is a fantastic city, everywhere you go you'll see traces of the empire, it's a fairly small city and very cosy and have that southern atmosphere everywhere.
Berlin is also very nice, but it is a "new" city so it can't be compared to Rome, they are building all over the city, and a lot was bombed during the war, but it all adds to a funny atmosphere, but in a good way. The city is very hip and everyone who is something comes to Berlin, a lot of artists from all over Europe moves to Berlin, since it is the place to be. Since the city is very hip it has a good nightlife. The city is also home to a lot of interesting museums, for me the Jewish museum was a fantastic experience, the architect is Liebeskind and the architecture is a whole experience in itself.
And then there's London...what is there to say, it is the biggest capital in Europe so it has everything. great nightlife, great restaurants, great museums etc. I love it there, but then again I lived there for half a year
- If you are in the UK I would also recommend going a trip to Scotland to experience both city life and great nature |

Have you considered Brasov, Romania. It is sooooo beautiful here, the mountains are amazing and the open markets and the Center are a lot of fun and there are tons more that I have not done yet including lots of castles and the Black Church. The exchange rate is awsome as well it allows to a lot more money to play with. Go to Virtual Tourist and you can see a lot of photos. |

I agree with Budapest, it's fabulous! And Prague too, which has gotten very touristy but is very very beautiful. both places have great sightseeing and museums and are wonderful walking cities. Less expensive than many places you've been to also.
I'm jealous that you're in the pickle you're in! :-) |
