I agree with almost everyone here:Paris.
Not only don't I think it's that beautiful,most French people are snobbish,they won't even try to communicate with you i any other language(so if you don't speak French good luck to you) and it's so expensive it's almost impossible to stay there for longer than a week and not be completely broke after....yeah definitely Paris!

I donâ€™t think there is such a place. Even if a place is overrated for a while, it gets the attention that deserves, soon or laterâ€¦ Paris is not overrated, it is a real cityâ€¦

i disagree with zusje or whatever...i'm 17 and i stayed in paris for two months and the whole time there i got by with my english..its hte older folks more like it, that is annoyed with our lack of french..but you have to believe the whole city is basically english also..younger generations speak english..

for the question: i think that western europe is quite overrated now..being that EVERYBODY goes there...like germany, france, spain, italy and etc...i feel like people should visit also the east of europe..i'm very very interested in countries like albania, turkey, belarus, latvia, lithuania and estonia, and the ukraine and places like those...

I have to disagree with nearly everybody here who has voted for Paris.

I am also astounded (but not surprised) that anyone can consider the French to be arrogant because they don't speak English !

You try speaking French in London or New York and see what reaction you get.

The most over-rated place I have ever been in Europe is Brussels, closely followed by Geneva. That's not to say I don't like Brussels, it's just that, apart from the Mannequin Pis and the Grote Place, there isn't really that much to see. Similar story with Geneva - beautiful place but not much to see.

I'd say Berlin. Probably because I had heard loads of good words about it and felt disappointed when I finally visited it. There certainly were some nice places and sights, but not my style.

Berlin - it is xenophobic, dirty, run by communists again ...we spent billions to protect them from the communists; now they elected a "party"mayor who relies on Communists. Berlin is like the poor mans version of Disney World; most "old" buildings are just replicas of old buildings ..the people are unfriendly and and and avoid berlin; esspecially if u are Jewish, Black, Latino ... a scary city.
