It depends upon which things we compare...
We are neither Arabs nor Europeans, but we do have some similarities with both Greeks and Algerians (between others)
We share many things ( for instance food,music,etc) with Armenians and Greeks.
In terms of politics and government, there is no muslim country which has the same system as we have. ( secularist republican regime, with a civil code influenced by France and Switzerland)
Azerbaydjan is certainly the closer country ( language and ethnicity) but we also have strong ties with the other turkic countries ( Turkmenistan,Kazahkstan,etc )
Some balkanic countries have been influenced by the Ottoman Empire, that's why we feel really close to Albanians,Kosovars,Bosniacs,etc
I am sometimes amazed by the similar physical look that we have with Spaniards, Portuguese, Bulgarians,Romanians.
Concerning the economy, it seems that we have approximately the same situation as Mexico ( a strong economy, a high rate of immigration abroad, huge disparities between the poor and the rich, a dynamic market, neither a powerfull westerner country nor a third world country ). |

When I first was there, I thought it was a cross between Greece and Italy. No offense to others but I had Greece in my list of places to see before I die. But seeing something similar to the Colosseum in Turkey was enough for me. |

Each country is unique in it's appearance and qualities. But if you would like to compare, I would say Greece. The geography is similar, there are many cultural traits that they share, like food, customs, music etc. |

Turkey is actually really is unique. one doesn't understand that Turkey is a mixture of Asia and Europe till she moves away. We have some similarities with the East, mostly connected to our culture from the Ottoman times but we are also soo different from them that cannot be classified to be one of them. I would also say Greece, because our lifestyles are very similar. |

I dont think Syria & Turkey have anything in common or any similarity,i might say Turkey might be similar to Lebanon,am not saying that becuz I'm from Lebanon,but i find alot of things in similar,for instant,food,music,crazy parties,beautiful girls,crazy free country,but what Turkey has that Lebanon doesn't have right now is a PRESIDENT haha
But what Lebanon has that Turkey doesn't have is a true lovely neighbor ISRAEL,please do not envy us lol
