My best friend Maya is lebanese and so I notice a lot of times that our culture and traditions are almost the same. Like they take of their shoes like Turks. They have words that are Turkish. But still.. I don't think any of them are bette than each other because how can you REALLY know if you haven't lived there. I think the only people that can say which one is better is if they are either half Lebenese and half Turkish or someone who has lived in both countries... thats just my opinion.

food- I think Turkish is better just because when I go to my lebenese friends house her mom puts too many spices in it .. I never tell her tho.

place- I like Turkey because in Lebanon they don't have a beautiful view of the bosphorus when you look out the window

Tourism- definately Turkey because we are more rich in history than Lebanon. Ottoman Empire-all I need to say. And plus all the English and Russians come over here to the beach.

country--that doesn't make sense

culture- I think it goes to both of them because both cultures are almost the same

religion- Same religion... so both of them. I don't know if you are asking who is more into their religion but I beleive both of them are.

Well I've never been to Lebanon and I can only go by what I have seen on documentaries made for purposes other than tourism, although I did like the enterprising mothers with a booming turshu (pickles) business.

I prefer to visit Turkey as my heritage is from there. There is a lovely saying in Turkish "Zevkler ve Renkler tartisilmaz"
Which means "Pleasures and colours are not to be debated"
So its a perceptual thing.

Heres a link which demonstrates the individuality of both the Arabic/Lebanese and Turkish people each preserving their own identity in their joint historical context.
http://www.emro.who.int/Publications/emhj/0503/20.htm

As we know one of the original Turkic founders Kublai khan is considered to be the first of fiat money makers The paper bills made collecting taxes and administering the huge empire much easier while reducing cost of transporting coins. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kublai_Khan

The Arab Muhammad bin Musa al-Khuwarazmi was the founder of Algebra & Algorithms which are named after him.

As history demonstrates both Turkish and Arabs as well as ALL of the nationalities in the world have contributed in some kind of discovery/benefit or other.

Who cares who made the 1st Kebab?
If you ask me the tastiest is the one my mother makes.

Now lets get rid of the pointless frictions and "tit for tats" and unite in the preservation of better standards of living for all.

In many aspects Lebanon is much like a small version of Turkey. However I do not think that they are even comparable. Turkey is better for it is more stable, has better food, and is not a bogus colonial country but a successor to a great empire.

EDIT: It is just ridiculous to attribute the turkish cuisine to lebanese.

I say, both are equally good. Turkish food is mostly based on Lebanese food. Shawarma and Falafil that are available in Turkish restaurants are original Labanese foods. Cool, if you look for Tourism, Turkey is a better place because, this is more a tourism place than lebanon. But for the place of interests, both have their own list of places not to miss. Land scaping of Lebanon is spectacular, while the Turkish towns are homely for any nationalities. You have all the positives in both the countries.

If you are European or American, only the guideline is, BE CAUTIOUS with the locals in both the places on money matters. When you buy small items, do not go to show rooms. The same items with 10 to 20% rate will be available at street sides. So, be smart on this. Also for food, if you like to taste local food, do not enter big restaurants. Go to small restaurants and outlets along the streets. Enjoy the trip

Neither country is particularly safe however Turkey would be the better option considering that politically it is more stable. Lebanon is very dangerous. Both countries are predominantly Muslim and both in the Middle East. Their food are similar.
