Depends where you're coming from I suppose. I love Birmingham because it has great shopping, cheap 4 star hotels and fantastic nightlife and restaurants all within 15 minutes of each other. Who says you have to fly anywhere and add to carbon footprint when you can have just as much fun in UK. Also Brighton, Manchester and Cardiff are great too. |

It depends on your goal. The best for a romantic short break is Venice. But Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris, Rome are also favourites for me. |

There are so many to choose from, start wherever you like, some of the smaller ones are really nice, it depends on what you want to get out of it, culture?, sights? nightlife? etc.
Pisa is really nice out of the high season, Prague is beautiful and cheap, Stockholm and Helsinki have a lovely scandinavian laid back ambience. Paris for the traditional sights, Rome for the ancient ones but very crowded. In the UK Edinburgh is stunning. |

For a mini break that will allow you to party and have a crazy time, I'd recommend either Barcelona or Madrid in Spain, or Prague, Czech Republic.
If you go later in the year, I'd steer towards Spain, as the weather will be much more pleasant. |
