Ioannina is nice but my vote goes to Larisa. It's big without being overwhelming and still has a friendly feeling about it.

Ioannina - without a doubt!

To the answerer further up page - Epirus is in Greece DUH - try telling the Epirotis they are not Greek - they consider themselves the most Greek of all Greece!

I haven't visited Trikala yet.
I don't really know because I would like to live near the sea and I haven't really visited a city that is not near the sea. Well, I've only visited Tripoli, but I wouldn't like to live there. Nice restaurants, though.

I like Karpenisi, Kastoria, Ioannina and Drama.

From the cities I've been to, I too would definitely say Ioannina. Very beautiful place.

(For our dear "friends", Ioannina is in Epirus which is one of the 10 Greek regions).

I love everything in peloponnesos.Lots of Green and has fantastic scenary ,even in the mainland cities.

It would be nicer before the big fires last year, but still has nice places...

Airpole
Being born next to sea no city appeals to me that doesn't have water close by. But Verroia is a very nice city too.

BTW, I did not see any mentioning of FYROM in the question. It states about cities in Greece.

Min Tous Kiklous Terates
WELL this is good question..as you would find it hard for most greeks to name one as most of our cities are around water..but that is a natrual in heritance of our love with the sea..i have to say there where 2 cities that intrest me that where not near water the 1st being ARGRINIO.this city reminded me of either rome or sicily for some reason but i was impressed witht he people.but i only spent it over night.the other city was..... IONINNA the city reminded of warmth.it was a bustling city also a city where people where very helpfull and quiet intresting..and intresting historical facts too..

Trikala is nice, but Ioannina may be even better. Oh, and yes it is in Epirus, which is a part of Greece, of course.

Aurora P
I am biased, but I say Edessa! Ioannina is also beautiful and am shocked anyone actually thinks Epirus is a separate country. It is a province of Greece!

Charles_N
is there such a thing such as a beautiful city without sea? :-P i dont think so..It must be Etoliko maybe

bakoyanni
Paris-France, that is a real greek town (just look at the name Paris)

VODEN, WHERE I LIVE (KOSTENARIYA, PRECISELY). BUT WE CONSIDER IT MACEDONIA, NOT GREECE.

Ioannina. But it is Epirus, not Greece.
