First the Germans and Austrians speak German as their native language, then the Czech, Slovaks, Hungarians and Polish usually had German in school as a foreign language. All above nationalities get taught English in school (since 1990) and the older folks in East Germany, Poland, Czech Republic etc used to have Russian in school.

In Central Europe the answer is easy: No1 native language is German - as it is spoken in Germany, Austria, parts of Italy, France, Belgium ....even some people in Denmark and Poland speak German.
Most people take English as a foreign language.
