Which language do Belgium people speak?

Hi, I'm from Belgium and I live here as I have been all my life!
To get the facts straight....
There are three official languages : Dutch, French and German.
In Flanders we speak officially Dutch as do the Dutch people who live in the Netherlands. But our languages is not completely the same. We differ like the Americans and the British differ when speaking English.
But even though we speak Dutch in work environment, but home we speak in a dialect... it not so much the words that differ as well the way we pronounce them... It's very possible that two Flemish people don't understand each other when they both speak in their dialect...
In Wallonië they speak French... Again, it's the same language as they speak in France, but their is also a form of dialect...
Then their's a little part of Belgium that speaks German (when world war II came to an end, we got a piece of Germany for compensation).
And their's Brussels...it lies surrounded by Flemish territory but it has a sort of independence... Officially they (have to) speak Flemish and French, but mostly people speak French...

Since we were/are all obliged to learn at least three languages at school, most Flemish people speak Flemish, French and English and most Walloon people speak French, English and German... Don't now about the German part...

So, it was a simple question, but there is no simple answer...

funny to see all these answers, especially those that are either ment as a joke or ...

i'm native belgian and living in belgium again (used to live abroad).

belgium has 3 official languages: dutch (but it's very often reffered to as flemish), french and german.

dutch is spoken in the north of belgium by about 60% of belgian population, french by about 40% in the south; german is spoken by a small minority in the east.

brussels is supposed to be bilingual, but it's easier to get along in french.

most of the younger people also speak english, but they have a strange accent - in fact, although if i'm not one of "the younger", so have I but you've noticed just by reading this ;-)

Belgium is a country with 2 languages: French and Flemish (absolutely not Scandinavian as someone suggested).

Rain
As no census exists, there are no official statistics on Belgium's three official languages or their dialects. Various criteria, including the language(s) of parents, of education, or the second-language status of foreign born, may affect suggested figures. An estimated 59% of the Belgian population speaks Dutch (often referred to as Flemish), and French is spoken by 40%. Total Dutch speakers are 6.23 million, concentrated in the northern Flanders region, while French speakers comprise 3.32 million in Wallonia and an estimated 0.87 million or 85% of the officially bilingual Brussels-Capital Region. The German-speaking Community is made up of 73,000 people in the east of the Walloon Region; around 10,000 German and 60,000 Belgian nationals are speakers of German. Roughly 23,000 more of German speakers live in municipalities near the official Community.

Depends. Dutch, French, and German are listed as official languages but Dutch would be the language that the majority of the population speaks.
