Madrid. It's much more gracious than Rome. Rome is kinda dirty...lots of dust in the air from the archeological digs, and such.
Of course, Rome is a wonderful and exciting city, and, if you love the look of the ruins, that has its own sort of beauty, too. But Madrid is the more gracious city. |

Rome by far, a lot more history to see first hand and the cafe culture is fantastic. Madrid is a bit industrial but is also nice, not my favorite. I suggest Barcelona or Sevilla if you want to check out Spain... Porto Cervo, Sardinia is one of the most beautiful places I've been to in Itlay, although quite expensive. |
