I know. I don't like it when I come out of the water and have a cigarette butt stick to my foot, or any other body part for that matter. One time I was sleeping and had one stick to my hair. Another time I was drinking from my water bottle and there was one on the bottle too. Those things are so annoying :-(

Im with you on this one. Another thing I think is extra rude is flicking the damn butt out of the window, especially on the freeway. My mom actually caught ashes in her eye from some dumba$$ that flicked their cigarette out the window. What if someone has a gas leak from their car & you flick a cigarette out? POW! U just killed someone b/c of your nasty habit. But yeah I get sick of seeing cigarette butts everywhere or seeing people take their car ashtrays & just dump them wherever, whenever. Three words for you: ig - nor - ant.
The funny thing is, the same people that flick cigarette butts everywhere are the same ones that complain about litter on the highway! Duh, you HELPED! Retard!

It is an addiction, it's legal to smoke. The butts bio-degrade shortly with some rain.

I defintely toss my smokes if I'm on the move.

****But someone having a picnic or beach day should have something there they can put them in. They are just lazy, plus its a natural thing to put your smokes out in sand since thats how fancy hotel ash trays are, and outdoor large ash trays, etc..

I was in Turkey last August for the first time. I was shocked to see the the road along the Marmara Sea covered in trash. It is something that I didn't expect from a country of people very proud of their history. I know it used to be common in the US to toss trash out of the window or on the ground 30-40 years ago, too. It took a big Keep America Beautiful campaign and fines for littering (plus time) to change the view of the people. Now, littering isn't common, BUT---people here still don't see cigarette butts as littering!! And I still have to catch my Turkish husband before he tosses a soda can out the car window, sometimes..lol.

Why do you hate human culture? Cigarette butts are just artifacts of our progress as human beings. :P

But seriously, I agree completely. Cigarette smokers are so disliked by the rest of the society that the least they could do is to clean up after themselves.

everyone hate that.. in fact the ones who throw cigarette butts everywhere hate that. at least they don't like to do it so much.. but they have to do something strange or something out of social norms. if they don't, show a great aggression.. they feel always a defect in their inside.. a hidden anger can be found deep inside of them.. shortly they are just anti social or trying to be an antisocial ''abi''... they try to compensate their defects but usually with a unsuccessful consequence. since they feel or know a little their defective sides, have to use some high values acceptable by all society.... like patriotism, or being side of the nation..i think we are able to laugh them and not to show any angry, their antisocial behaviors can be restricted a little... maybe..!

on vapour usually from the second floor the ashes comes and i go upstairs and tell the guys ''are you aware of what you're doing'' and i kill the magical atmosphere they are in and also if there is an old lady'' abla'' it is more fun to see them dazzled with laides words:)))

I also don't like cigarette butts, but if I tell those people, they for spite make more litter, I don't see solution, maybe big money reprisal can wake up those people.

I agree with you. I think there should be penalties for example 1000 euros if they catch you throwing any garbage at the beach or on the streets.

I hate to see cigarette butts anywhere. And flinging cigarette butts out car windows have started wildfires in parts of my state due to dry conditions. Smokers should be taxed to pay for all the cleanup need to take care of their nasty habit. And if that means it cuts the sale of cigarettes then so much the better. A NO SMOKING PLANET what a concept.

I never trough any rubbish even if I cant find a litter I hold them in my hand or in my bag but cigarette buts are totally different...they can be cleared out easily also after the light is out and that's what I do on the beach...

But I have seen women burring something else on the beach I think I prefer cigarette buts to those...
