Just returned after my 5th visit*, a great place not yet too spoilt by Lager drinking Brits, if you find places away from 'popular' Hisaronu, Side, Bodrum & Mamaris you can still see something of the real Turkey.
*ps;
I would tell you where but I like it as it is !!!!!

I have been going to Turkey for the last ten years or more and each time we have had a fantastic time.
The shop owners will harrass you to buy their goods and the restraunts will try to drag you in to eat, but if you walk on past and say not today thank you, they accept it.
There is a lot of competition for them and they have to work hard to fill the restraunts as there is one restraunt after another, hence the harrassment, despite this Turkey is a beautiful country and the people are so friendly, they will bend over backwards to accomodate and entertain you, whatever you need they will try to obtain it for you, no matter what time of the day or night.
You will also find all your designer wear at low low prices but beware, one shop or market stall will be selling 3 items of clothing for a tenner and anther shop or market stall will be selling 5 items for a tenner, check the quality, the items look the same but the quality is different and the same if you are buying jeans, they will always get you a pair from the bottom of the pile and the quality is different so check what you are buying and be prepared to haggle the price with them, you can always get the price lowered.
Book up and go, check it out for yourself I am sure you will have a fantastic time.
I will say this to you, if you are female and you are young free and single, dont be sucked in by the charm of the delightful young men there, they have a girl in every town and city .

I have been on holiday to Turkey 3 times with my husband and children,we will be going again in July to Marmaris for 2 weeks,it is a great place to holiday for all ages,there are lots of beautiful places to visit and many excursions such as boat trips and jeep safaris all at reasonable prices,the people are very friendly and will do all they can to help you enjoy your stay.Yes they do keep asking you to eat at their restaurants but why not they need to make a living all you have to say is no thank you,you cant please everyone but the Turkish people try harder than other countries i know to make you welcome,if you are thinking of going,go and enjoy yourself.

I went to Alanya 12 years ago. The hotel was so diabolical we took the company to court when we got home. The judge was horrified by what we had gone through and awarded us the whole cost of the holiday plus £2000 for inconvenience and aggravation. No, I've never been back.
