Ah...today it is my day and i am loaded...So....
Today i received a message from a ''friend''who has been invited to my house in the past, to whom we gave all our hospitality,my family, and my friends, this person stayed to our house,and today he sent a message to me saying that he hates greeks, because they didnt give to a friend of him and his family visa to come to Greece.His friend has green passport, he should take visa quickly, but the truth is that he applied the last moment, without having the right documents..
So this message was saying''I hate greeks, and Greece, this bloody country...
Needless to say that when i was in France,in the room as a student a group of girls from Turkey was calling me gavur yunan...
Needless to say that some years ago when i called a friend because of a hot event in the Aegean sea she closed the phone on my face, and i just wanted to wish her happy birthday...
So who hates?I cant blame all the people, it depends on the education of each one, but except of 2, 3 users of the turkish section who have showed a real friendship towards the greeks, we have been provocked many times that we do sabotage, and things like that..I repeat i dont generalise, but i am hurt..Because i have given hospitality to my house to turkish people, and then, they told me that they hate my country...
However,concerning our bloody past, we try not to remember it, but it is difficult..Because i admit that there have been mistakes by both parts, ok, but in a hot event between both countries, be sure, that everyone is going to defend his own country, if he is a real compatriot..
We can not forget many things, certainly, history dont forbid us to create friendships in private level, but sometimes unfortunately, SOME people dont think about it...I still have the message of this ''friend'' who said:We are enemies''..
Excuse me for my complain, i was always supporting the greek -turkish friendship, but after some recent events, i really got disappointed, hurt, and i really believe that it can hardly be obtained, unless people understand that the simple human beings are not responsible for the authorities or the embassies, or the political decisions... |

i think the ones that hate Turks without any reason are full of prejudice or brainwashed. the same goes for the Turks as well.
what i have seen from my experiences is that if you behave friendly then they would react in the same way. this is not only for Greeks but for any nation

I do not think that none hates none. Certainly greeks are not so narrow minded to hate someone only cause of his nationality. In my job I have met some turkish they dont like Greeks but I know that is not the general opinion. So some greek may also hate the turkish but I know for sure that is not the general opinion. |

Sais who????? Only severely uncultivated people could feel like that. You generalise bigtime and that is immature thinking . We may have political issues, but i personally don't know a single greek who seriously hates turks. Hate is a very heavy word to describe a stupid opposition.
PS. Check your compatriot with the nickname "no kurds in my country" and you will understand what i mean by severely uncultivated.
PS.2. Some of my best friends where turks when i was studying in germany and i have met great people from your country as well as stupid people, and from my own cuntry as well. But, statistically speaking, i m afraid that nationalism is far more favored in turkey then in greece. Nationalism in greek is a negative word whatsoever. |
