in every race and culture we can find people who are nothing but psychos.
After his training, Mehmet went to work for the far-right para-military faction the Turkish Grey Wolves. In 1979, under orders from the Grey Wolves, Mehmet killed the left-wing newspaper editor Abdi Ipekçi in Istanbul. He was caught and sentenced to life in prison. Mehmet soon escaped, with the help of the Grey Wolves. Mehmet was then moved around in and out of various Middle Eastern countries. In 1980 Mehmet traveled to Italy where he took part in an assassination attempt on the Catholic pope. Mehmet fired two shots in an attempt to kill Pope John Paul the 2nd. Mehmet was caught and sentenced to life imprisonment in Italy, but was pardoned by president Carlo Azeglio Ciampi in June 2000.
Mehmet returned to Turkey, where he was imprisoned for the murder of Abdi Ipekçi.
The meeting of these two unique individuals’ resulted in a world news event that changed the world forever. The reason for the event occurring varies depending on who you speak to but most facts regarding the actual event are similar.
During early 1980 Mehmet Agca began criss crossing the Mediterranean region, changing passports and identities in an attempt to conceal his point of origin.
Mehmet arrived in Rome on May 10, 1981. While in Rome Mehmet claimed to meet up with three accomplices, a Turkish individual, and two Bulgarians. They were then advised of a plan to assassinate the pope.
The plan was for Agca, and a second gunman Oral Celik, to fire at the pope from St. Peter’s Square. They were then supposed to detonate a small bomb to create chaos. The plan was the bomb would be a diversion that would allow the group to escape to the Bulgarian embassy. On May 13 the two would-be assassins sat in the St. Peters square addressing postcards while waiting for the Pope to arrive.
When the Pope drove by Mehmet fired two shots at the Pope. The other individual did not fire nor set off the diversion bomb. Mehmet was grabbed by the crowd and arrested. Mehmet Agca was sentenced to life imprisonment in Italy, but was later pardoned by president Carlo Azeglio Ciampi in June 2000.
Mehmet returned to Turkey and was immediately imprisoned for the murder of Abdi Ipekçi. |

He is a member of the pan-Turkist and racist group, gray wolves and a terrorist.
This group was involved in assassination of Hrant Dink, murder of three Greek priests in Maltaya, murder of the editor of Milliyet newspaper and in some other terrorism activities.
Ideology of this dirty group is to unite all Turkic-speaking people and nations and be the greatest in the world. (The same thing that the young Turk party was dreaming and resulted those horrible massacres).
Gray Wolves have branches in Turkey, Republic of Azerbaijan (real name:Arran) and Europe.
Another of their dirty aims is to separate Azerbaijan (part of Iran which people are Azeri-speaking) and unite it with Republic of Azerbaijan as a step of their Turkic-empire plan. Until now they haven't been successful and will never be.
In their opinion Armenia should be wiped out, because its bothering their plan (dream). They just like Turks and hate other races.
In one word they are racist and will do every dirty action for their dreams.
As an Armenian, I don't consider Turks an enemy, but I hate pan-Turkists, they're our enemy.
Turks by demonstrating against assassination of Hrant Dink and condemning that, proved that. |

Abdullah Çatlı was a Turkish ultra-nationalist activist of the "Grey Wolves", a movement of the Turkish Nationalist Movement Party (Milliyetçi Hareket Partisi-MHP). His activities are highly respected among the Turkish ultranationalists, who generally refer to him as "Reis"(chief).
The assassination attempt was organized by Abdullah Çatlı "in exchange for the sum of 3 million marks", paid by Bechir Celenk to the Grey Wolves.
The paramilitary wing of the Grey Wolves have been utilized by the Turkish intelligence services to assassinate PKK leaders. With Counter-Guerrilla, the Grey Wolves went to fight Kurdish separatists, and have been accused of killing and torturing thousands in the 1980s, and also carrying false flag attacks in which the Counter-Guerrilla attacked villages, dressed up as PKK fighters, and raped and executed people randomly.
In 2000 Ali was arrested for murder of Abdi İpekçi.
Despite a plea for early release in November 2004, a Turkish court announced that Ali would not be eligible for release until 2010. Nonetheless, he was released on parole on January 12, 2006
However, a report from the French AFP news agency stated that "The Turkish judicial authorities still haven't explained exactly which legal resources he had access to", and former minister of Justice Hikmet Sami Türk, in government at the time of Ağca's extradition, claimed that, from a legal viewpoint, his liberation was a "serious mistake" at best, and that he should have not been freed before 2012. |
