Why did greeks noy accept help from turkey for the forest fires?

it sound a little selfish

Dellarovere
Greeks did accept it, upon offered, and fire fighting Turkish aircrafts helped with putting out the forest fires in Greece.
And we thanked Turkiye for this.
In all catastrophes each of the two countries supports the other.

Ipek K
They accepted it.

Please do a little search before posting a question.

chrisvoulg1
But they did isn't it?

somerlo
Greece accepted the Canadair aircrafts immediately.
As for the humanitarian aid, it was not up to Greece to accept it or not, but it had to do with E.U. burocracy.

Greece accepted the help offered by Turkey, the airplanes came and helped, but we all must know that Greece is submitted to the European Union custom rules, which impose a series of formalities for any goods to be imported form non E.U. countries, humanitarian aid included.

Yes you should ask this to the Greeks.
There were rumors in the media about Greek Red Cross refusing aid from Turkish Red Crescent. They did accept the fire fighting planes though. In such disasters, there are a lot of rumors. We cannot know which one is true and which one is false. Greek authorities made a lot of mistakes during the fires. Let us not blame the Greek people for those mistakes. They are our neighbors and friends, no matter what.

They did. Day before yesterday Turkish fire fighters were in Evia. Turkish planes were helping too. Why do you insist differently?
p.s. From the bottom of my heart, great thanks to all the people who helped, we really needed it!

They did .!!!

This is a lie, and i don't know who is trying to spread this rumour. We accept help from wherever it comes in times of crisis. The same was heard about Fyrom too, and it was alie as well.

We did accept. If we were selfish we wouldn't have sent any help back in the earthquake in 1999. Instead we were the first country who sent immediate help. Get your facts straight first.

flintguy49
I think it was all the cans of gasoline they turks were carrying the gave the Greeks pause.

Mehmet K
:) I think this question should be addressed to greeks.

Charmed
They accepted it, first they wrote it like that but it's not true !

Trotsky vs Kerensky- НекIо!
I don't know really, I'm sure there's a valid reason for it. I read in many newspapers that they didn't accept the help offered by the Red Crescent. The Red Crescent authorities declared that they've waited for hours at the Ipsala border. Then they returned back. But they added that they are still ready to help Greece if they need it.

mete
I dont like to think about it

Templar
Petrol and water look the same and mistakes could be easily made.

jenochl
It was a "Greece" fire!
