I am no German. Just yesterday I have returned back from a 20 day trip of Frankfurt. The only other people that I could tell apart from German were the Turkish people. I found that Turkish people hardly made any effort to integrate with the local Germans. The apartments they live in is all rented by Turkish people only. While Turkish women took their children to play in the nearby community parks, these women made a separate group of their own and made no effort to talk to other German women bringing their own children to play in the same park. While all of Germany is cheering German team during the Euro Cup, Turkish people have been carrying Turkish flags on their cars and apartments cheering only Turkish team. In fact I don't remember having seen any other flag apart from German and Turkish flag in Frankfurt. No doubt people from other countries also live in Germany, but they have all tried to mix up with the local population. But Turkish people have tried to keep themselves away from any such mixing up. Surely such a behavior is tantamount to sowing the seeds of distrust and hatred. What else can one expect?

Maybe that question came up because it is in the German section, I will translate for you

Türken: eine bedrohung für deutschland???
Turks: a threat for Germany

Was denkt ihr über Türken???
What do you think about Turks???

sie nehmen uns arbeitsplätze weg oder noch schlimmer, sie arbeiten nicht und bekommen das geld von uns.

they take away our jobs or even worse, they don't work and take money from us

sie verprügeln deutsche kinder in der schule!!!
they are beating up German kids in school!!!

was denkt ihr?
what do you think?

@gugu; entweder sprichst du unsere sprache oder verlässt unser deutschland!
@gugu; either you speak our language or you leave our Germany!

It raised quite an uproar in the German section, about 40 answers, but most of the answers are being positive towards Turkish people!
So, just one lunatic on the loose!

I KNOW MOST PEOPLE GONNA GIVE THUMBS DOWN BUT,
I have a German friend who lives in Germany, she is kind of crazy (: Her hair is green and she usually put very bright pink lipstick on her lips. She is 13 and some older boys who are Turkish, hit her! A group of Turks HIT her and they said they didn't like her style! First of all, hitting a girl is strictly UNACCEPTABLE!
Everyone has own style and it's not anyone's biz. She says too many people in her school is being hit by the Turks.
She also says "If they hate our style, WHY DO THEY LIVE IN GERMANY? They can live in Turkey where they might love styles of the women."

BUT SHE ALSO KNOWS THAT, Turks in Turkey is not like that and they are nice people.

This generalized question cannot be answered, it would be the same if I'd asked why hate U.S.-Citizens Mexican immigrants.
I am German and have a lot of friends which parents came from Italy, Spain, Portugal, former Yugoslavia, Greece and Turkey to Germany for work as "Gastarbeiter" (guest workers) in the 60's and 70's, and are now fully integrated in the German community.
Some of the Turks however did not wan't to integrate, learn the language, accept local laws, and therefore are not so much welcomed by part of the German community.

First of all some Turkish people in Germany are still having hard time to adjust to the culture. In a sense they are even more primitive than the people in Turkey. However, this is the 3rd generation now and there are 3 million of them living in Germany. Wherever you go people hate immigrants. However, Turks helped a lot in rebuilding the German economy, currently they have over 100 billion Euro's in German Banks and own thousands of businesses. Most of them love Germany and see it as their own country. Besides not all Germans hate them, probably the fascist ones, they hate everybody anyway

Ask this to German section...

Why do people hate immigrants anywhere? They come from a different culture, they are poor and undereducated, they don't integrate, they are not sensitive about local rules/customs/laws, they take away jobs from the locals, etc. etc.

Those that hate the Turks in Germany, (some Germans not all) are the same ones that shave their heads, tattoo swastikas on the back of their heads, hate Jews, gypsies and blacks as well. Sound familiar they are trying to clone Hitler as well but they have to get the remains from the Russians first.

Well this situation is not just happening in Germany but in all countrys wich have hight migration rate, as population increase there are several factors that are changing like job opportunities, costums, culture, and if the country is conservative they will not accept so easy any kind of change in their sorrounders. In Germany Turkish began to miggrate there as an invitation of German goverment to help them to rebuild the country afther second world war, that generations of turkish of course were coming from low education or poor people who had to go a work as construction workers, cleaners etc..They stablish there and made life, and they helped german people to make German a good country, now the second and third generation decendants of theses people have been able to get education, make good bussines and also get into politics and other kind of high sectors, so competition for German people has grown so it is normal that they have certain problems to accept this facts, is kind of nationalism wich does not take you anywhere but cause racism and lack of understanding someone who does not belongs to your same roots.
In the other side is that true that migrattion is still happening and of course people who migrates are those who do not find any opportunity to make life in their own country, of course majority of them are poor people and may be uneducated people who due to several reasons have not been able to get good education in their own country, so their appearence will be diferent on the eyes of the germans in this case...and mostly because their are not christians but muslims...remember that german has been characterized by a high level of racism and in spite that they are liberal christians they can not evoid to feel some repulsion to someone who is not proffesing the same faith...
But i dont think all german people hates turkish other wise why german people go to turkey to spend hollidays or are getting marry to a turkish people?...and why in fact german lenguage had adopted even some turkish words as a part of they coloquial lenguage?
Racist groups are every not just in germany and are for every people who are not part of developed countrys...This is the war of power and imperialism....

I agree and disagree, i think that people do seem to hate change and they hate what they dont understand, so most that live there / or anywhere else that immigration issues, want their life to stay the same, but then life never stays the same.. I think that lots of the immigration issues, are just prejudice and they are sugar coated to say they are about immigrants. There are just close minded, and small minded people every where in the world that wont accept that other cultures can be wonderful and have many things to contribute. If they give it time, That is my opinion..

Not all the Germans hate them. Only the racist ones.
Like someone already mentioned, the Turkish community in Germany are not like the Turks living or working in U.K or U.S.A. or Canada.
Before their Germany adventure, they were living in rural parts of Turkey. As everywhere in the world, people living in little villages or towns are always more conservative and ignorant when compared to city dwellers.
So they experinced a culture shock in Germany. Most of them did not learn German or even if they learned they couldn't speak it properly (but hey they were not speaking proper Turkish either), lived in their ghetto-style neighborhoods, never exposed themselves to German culture and values, lived a closed life. That's what most of the Germans criticize about them and I think Germans have every right to think like that.
However, these things are changing with the new generations.

P.S: Çetin, I got a violation notice too. Don't worry. But to tell the truth I quite deserved it, so I will not appeal. : P

And for some reason the smart guy who asked the question in German (which is a violation of Y/A rules btw), thinks that I'm living there, that's why he politely says "leave our Germany" to me. I just want to make it clear that I am not living in Germany and I don't have any plans of living there in the near or far future.

i do not blame germans atall for thier feelings for turks in germany.the turkish population on the whole failed completly to integrate with germans and german culture.ofcourse not every turk failed, there are alot who get along fine with germans in germany.

alot of young turks there quit school early or do not go atall, dont speak german and cannot find a job.before that young turk is able to stand on his own feet,3 more young turks arrive from istanbul and the same thing happens to them.

language is key to integration.if you do not speak the language of the country u move to and do not make the effort to speak it,u shouldnt be there.turks in germany have had decades to get thier act together and the simple fact is they have failed.

there is a big population of turks in the UK and they have integrated PERFECTLY.they r self sufficient and contribute greatly to the ecomomy.

Dan the MAN
i don't know what do you mean by inmigrants!!!
but i know the Turkish people don't play a good rule in Germany!!
