Why do russians migrate to western europe (UK, germany, france, SPAIN, italy)?

Most Russians are so full of pride, they will never admit that most of their people would live in the West given the chance. But yes, the 1st and 3rd answers were correct.

I do not think many Russians do. Can you provide any immigration statistics that would support your statement or is your statement merely a conjecture?

I was highly surprised to hear about migration of Russian to Western Europe. I think that word migration can be applied only when crowds of people emigrate from country of their origin. I checked...Countries of origin with high emigration rates are in Africa, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, South and Central America:
•-0.6%: Mali
•-0.5%: Saudi Arabia, Albania, Georgia;
•-0.4%: Armenia, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Mexico, Republic of Congo, El Salvador, Estonia;
•-0.3%: Ecuador, Kazakhstan, Tanzania
•-0.2%: Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Tajikistan, Guatemala

But we can’t generalize the reasons of emigration of one person or several persons.
Ok, let’s talk about facts. Russia don’t provide for Europe unqualified production workers.So, not so many people from Russia moved down to Europe. Most of Russians who moved down to Western Europe r highly educated and were hired by companies, got long term contracts. I have friends who work for Aerospace in London, For Reynolds and DuPont companies in US. It’s normal process…I know also several Austrian guys and American who work in my city for Mine and Steel companies.
Some people want to move from Russia to the countries of their origin(like German families from Russia moved down to Germany). But in last years some of them moved back to Russia. for different reasons. Some considered that Russia now can give them more wide range of business opportunities. Some (unfortunately) realized that they r strangers in Germany.

It’s ridiculous to read one more time all these statements like : Russians move to Western Europe for “better living standards, safer, more civilized, better climate….”. Learn geography please, and don’t be so narrow-minded! “family tragedies .. wife-beating, unwanted children, excessive cheating...” what country do they describe? US (where several Russian adopted kids were murdered), or Germany (were one nurse killed her 9 baby kids), or Austria (where one man raped his own daughter and she gave born to several kids who were actually her brothers and sisters)?
Safety life… thanks for God russian students don’t come to Universities to kill their friends and teachers.
Economy issues? France… Germany… strikes become usual over there… US r faced with bank system crisis (caused by real estate loans, which were given to persons who can’t pay it back now). Western European banks r involved to this also.
Where some persons got their knowledges about Russia? Is it own wisdom? Or palm fiction? What sources?
P.S. Dear Mr. Speaker…Just look around ! so many nice people who r actually “cream of society” and they r Russian. Thanks for God I met many nice persons from US, Germany, Gr Britain, Ukraine( different nationalities) who r really “cream of society”. I met some idiots, but I don’t consider all to be like that.

Because they don't want to be among other Russians anymore. But the problem is, those who migrate are not exactly "slivki obschestva" - I'd prefer to see them out of the civilized world. Truth be told, same goes for many of my fellow Ukies.

Russian billionaires may be multiplying but the russian population in general is still living in relative poverty. The situation is made worse by the russians' harshy behavior towards each other, I guess. There's no doubt they are the rudest people on earth. For obvious reason, this lack of human respect often translates into family tragedies .. wife-beating, unwanted children, excessive cheating... Maybe the new generation of russians, more exposed to civilized ideas, will bring some change.

Because, even if Russia weren't or isn't in an economic low, (like, since forever), it's cold, and depressing so much of the year, there.

Lots of them come to the US, too. Because they can have so much the better lives in the West.
