Why does Family Guy diss portuguese people?

Actually, if you listen to how the so-called Portuguese speakers speak Portuguese, you would notice that they are speaking Brazilian Portuguese, which would most likely make them Brazilian. The other characters incorrectly call them Portuguese people. The staff had to have known that if the speakers were on the set. Anyway, as everyone else has stated, Family Guy does insult all ethnicities. But they seem to insult races that are not European-Americans mostly, which is one of the reasons I don't like the show.

In regards to the Simpson's clip. I think it is interesting that Bart ordered paella, which is a dish that is linked more with Spain than Mexico. Also, they featured PelÃ© who is from Brazil. You should talk more about cultural inaccuracies on these shows and how they find humor out of ignorance.

i do not know why, but it is wrong if its offensive to the Portuguese community.

fox doesnt write the cartoon scripts, so its not as if fox hates portuguese people. alot of ethnic groups get picked on, usually just because other ethnic groups find it funny. there probably is no real reason. just ignore it. or laugh when they make fun of mexicans.

family guy disses everybody. there's one episode where they diss native americans, canadians, mexicans, and swedes in abour thirty seconds.....

don't take it personally....Just because they say something doesn't mean its true. And people are really tired of watching black, asian, jews and muslim people get dissed... Far as I'm concered, it's about time for some hating on the white man, if you gotta hate on anybody. we've commited more atrocities than the rest of the world put together.

Oh, maybe they're mad at you for the whole saving chris columbus thing. I mean, scandinavians, asians, and welsh had all showed up in the americas before little chrissy ever got it into his brain he'd go find India... and it's only after he does that bad stuff happens.

Americans hate all non Americans. they are closed minded and do not accept other cultures. they don't accept Canadians that have a similar culture and language. Now Portuguese we are smart we can speak their language and we can point ourselves in a map, meanwhile Americans are educated not to be very smart because then they can be easily manipulated by politicians. this is why many countries hate Americans. I apology to all Portuguese/Americans but this is the true.

Don't take it personally, It's the writers (of said show) not exactly Fox who is doing the stereotypes. In-fact, family guy at least (I don't want Simpsons that much anymore.) goes after every ethnicity. I've seen jokes about Asians, Blacks, Portuguese, Americans, British, French, German, Italian, and so forth.
The only reason I think you're seeing Portuguese only is because it's your ethnicity, you're not exactly looking (consciously and subconsciously) for "Disses" on other ethnicities other than your own.

If all Family guy did was bash on the Portuguese Fox would have pulled the show permanently under terms of racial profiling and acute stereotypes. Family aims at everyone, trust me. :P

Very simple: portuguese emigrants are very pacific and don't react like italians, or irish, or afro-american, or other group. This is a well known fact in all countries that have portuguese emigrants.
Portuguese are more concerned in working than doing "other stuff", that is good for cinema!
That's why you don't see any american movies about portuguese.
Simply, they don't make troubles!

Hi, I'm Portuguese and I saw those episodes. As everyone said they make fun of everybody, so relax. Also they were in fact talking Brazilian Portuguese (the fishermen) but that's probably because the producers didn't know there was a difference to European Portuguese.
